I'm starting to like the look of those "euro" mounts more and more; if I get a chance to make a decision on one of my own this year I'm going to give it a go.
Those look really healthy by the way Rick; thick and a lot of mass.

Re: Draw weight......
Well sure, I realize that. Guess that I'm used to pulling back a compound that stores all the energy throughout the draw as opposed to a recurve that just peaks at 200 at the very end. I don't want to be second guessing the guys who design these crossbows but it sure makes me wonder why Excal would ...

Draw weight......
Has anyone actually tested/measured the draw weight on these things?
Just wondering, because I'm a really small, old and fairly banged up dude and it feels really easy to draw use a Rope Aid.......It's supposed to be 100 lb! I don't have a scale or I'd measure it.

Good on ya man!
One more turkey than I've ever shot.
That bird looks like a giant Hungarian Partridge hanging there; if ONLY those Huns were anywhere near that big1

Re: Front Sight Ideas?
Sent off an email to Dereck; I agree, his sights look like a good; an improvement. If I can't get a front to work with the Skinner rear really soon then I'm just going to put the stock setup back on anyways for now; spring bear is too close now to start playing with this. Good luck and all the best ...

Front Sight Ideas?
I'm going with "open sights" on the crossbow; the stock rear sight aperture sat too high for me when I rested my cheekbone on the stocks' cheek-piece, so I'm fashioning a Skinner tactical ghost ring sight to fit. What have some of you done in the way of front sight modifications for those ...

And I think that is what we all want; to enjoy the outdoors and harvest game in a way that is respectful and ethical while at the same time not harming the outdoors and it's wildlife so that all others may also enjoy it as we do.
It's simple, isn't it LC.

Re: Still can't hunt with it.
There is another way to look at it: Here in Alberta I'm "entitled" to hunt with a crossbow because back in September, 2010 a moments lapse in focus on the part of a Jeep driver sent me careening off of my motorcycle and the permanent injuries to my back, neck and shoulder now "enable&...

Re: Still can't hunt with it.
I'm sure this isn't groundbreaking information but as we all know most organizations use established standards as the guide to establishing their own rules and standards; unfortunately, as long as the Pope and Young Club deems crossbows as more of a gun than a bow it's going to be an uphill battle t...

Sounds like it's a go then. After I put them together and test I'll post if it's a good recipe. P.S.......I'm thinking bear season is going to be a bit earlier than usual around these parts due to the warm winter; my friend working up around Wabasca has had the rear axles on his water truck punch th...

What about this.
A folding grip very similar to the existing grip behind the trigger but in that it would drop down and keep the forward hand in a similar position to the rearward hand and hence safely below the rail.......
