Re: They just don't get it!
WSS here in town used to be a great hunting and fishing store; that was before it was sold to UFA a number of years back. I'm not sure if anything has changed there but I doubt it; anyways, when I was there buying a crossbow all of their "new" Xbows were also the demos. They have a little ...

Re: Do you worry about Front of Center?
Here's some more info to fry your brain with. An arrow is a rocket; a coasting rocket whose fuel burnt out when it lost contact with the bowstring. In a rocket there are 2 main points of concern; the CG (center of gravity) and the CP (center of pressure). The CG is where the actual rocket balances i...

Here's a new one on me
I know this is a little off center of your topic SEW but I've commented here and don't think it merits a new thread...or maybe it does. So the other day I'm out shooting the Y25; fine tuning with broad heads, Muzzy 125 3-blade that I've used longer than any other hunting head but the first time with...

Re: FOC Broadhead
This is a good thread. It gives us something to consider. The alarm clock is set for 5 AM.; after making food and a thermos for the day I'm off. Gun range as the sun rises in the east while I'm shooting my new( to me) rifle to the west; Husquvarna 1640 in 30-06; made same year I was, 1960. I'll be t...

Re: FOC Broadhead
When you(SEW) said: "However, there is a big difference in the inflight and terminal performance of the various expandibles. I'm consumed with ballistic matters:" I took note. I agree with that, and that is why the data that you provide cannot tell the story of how a broad head will perfor...

I have 3" Fusion Vanes on my arrows. They are a tad lower in profile than most.
I like em.

Stock rear sight for sale or donation?
As the heading says, I'm looking for rear sight that someone may have kicking around and would part with.

Re: How accurate is your Matrix?
Tested one out at the store today; like ANY NEW TOY, VERY NICE.
Much less "recoil" then my Y25; are the limbs that much lighter???
Noticed that the string deflection over the deck was considerably less than mine. Are the matrix bows all like that?

Are you going to wait till the end of the season to take the bear or just at the first opportunity you get?

Re: recoil pads on crossbows
Being a small guy, the recoil pad on my Y25 made the XBow way to long for me; solution? Well, lets say that it came out a whole lot better than it sounds but what I did was to trace out the butt of the stock sens pad on to the middle of a vespa tire and used my dremel to fashion the edges into somet...

Re: hunting bear
Depends how fat you like your bear.
Keep in mind that bears like just about anything; they're scavengers and diggers from the swine family.
Grease, pancake syrup and a small bottle of anise flavoring are all good.

Re: Brass Inserts
Any archery shop that deals with Gold Tip should be able to order them for you; that's what I did to get mine. I know that there are sizes for the Lazer II, III and IV; I just don't know if any of those will work for your aluminum shafts but you can go off of the inside and outside dimensions for th...
