Re: favorite turkey decoy

I use a Pretty Boy and girl most of the time but every now and then I just stick out a folding foam hen by herself or maybe with a folding foam Jake. The big older mature gobblers prefer Pretty Boy once they start loosing a few hens. I actually had one leave his hens and run almost 50 yards to Prett...

Re: Mechanical head premature opening test (Graphic heavy)

If you are shooting 30 yards or more and getting good accuracy with your broadheads and they are opening in flight then what is the problem? I had one that I suspected would open in flight and shot it at 30 yards anyway and it flew about 20" high over the top of the target. Now I suspect in that cas...

Re: What Turkey Call For A Beginner?

Wow I was able to find 2 boxes of Winchester Long beard XR 3.5" number 6 shot. My choices were #4 or #6 shot. I went the #6, I wanted #5 but the 6s will have to do. What size shot do you folks use? I have shot 4s-5s and 6s over the years and really can't recommend one over the other if you keep you...

Those silly turkeys have been strutting all winter up here.
Cats is actin' like dogs and dogs is actin' like cats!
I have been seeing gobblers in full strut all during deer season this year. I even had a group of hens come by one morning with a hen in full strut.

I just got an email from Dawn saying the new limbs are thicker, and cracking issues should be a thing of the past. Excalibur saves the day again!
I will believe that only when no more splintered limbs are reported. Heard about the fixed limbs to many times.

If the numbers match or within 5 you can use them for a backup pair of limbs. Good luck!
I think you meant to say .5 as in 100.5. Correct?

Re: mechanical broad heads

I almost always shoot my deer from a tree stand and usually get a good blood trail but not always. The next to last deer I shot at 35 yards with a DL shot took off and ran almost 90 yards up the side of a steep ridge and fell over. I could see a heavy blood trail starting where I shot the deer going...

Re: O/T Shotgun Turkey Hunters

I have been shooting a Mossberg 835 using the factory choke and 3.5s for many years now but mine does not seem to care if I shoot 4s, 5s or 6s through it. It is deadly with all of them. But my Excalibur is just as deadly only at shorter ranges. :)

Re: Axe 340

Dang it! My bow was supposed to be here today! It’s now lost! Great! Exactly why I stopped shipping USPS! They are overpriced and slow with problems! Exactly the opposite around here. I will take USPS over UPS all day long. I had to drive over 100 miles the other day to retrieve my new Ravin crossb...

Re: mechanical broad heads

Explain how the entry hole is always smaller please?
This is an entry hole from a 2.3" hypodermic:

The OP said a gut hit and it went down in 70 yards. I would say that mechanical definitely did its job correctly.
