Re: easton 2216 vs 2219
Used 2216 in my Exomax and now using them in my 380 Matrix with great results in both. I build my own arrows using a Easton 2216 plastic flat nock with three 2 inch Blazer vanes at the rear of course which gives me a lighter rear end for the arrow and an aluminum 2216 insert at the front. For me no ...

Re: o\t ccw who does it an what do you carry
I have had a Michigan CPL for over 20 years. I carry a Glock 26 or a LCP 380 ( The LCP usually during the summer) Very happy with both of these handguns.

Re: Matrix 380 String Twist
I am not a string expert but is it possible that he has the wrong string for the Matrix? My 380 is about 5/16" off the Reds and I don't see any twisting up happening when I remove one end of the string from the bow. Just curious if a string measurement would give a indication if its the correc...

Re: Dry fire
In my opinion what you had would not even be considered a dry fire. My idea of a dry fire is when the bow limbs make a complete cycle all the way forward to precocked position. Such as a complete launch from full cock to resting position with no arrow in place to act as resistance. If we all look ha...

Re: Ghost Bucks
Very nice bucks. Has your state had any diseases in the last few years such a CWD, and EHD. These two alone can wipe out and entire local population.
Might explain their absence.

Re: Bolt Building Advice
I use a little different aluminum arrow formula but there is no wrong or right combination except what works for you. What works for me and my 380 matrix and previously my Exomax is this. 19 or 20 inch Easton 2216 aluminum shafts that I cut myself. I use only 100 gr points/ broadheads/Spitfires or W...

Re: Magnus Broadhead Questions
Chad sorry I have never tested the Black Hornets. I really hoped the Stingers would perform for me and my setup but for some reason I kept getting flyers. The others here make some good observations regarding the Stingers and I agree that reuse of these heads was one of my primary positives for them...

Re: Magnus Broadhead Questions
I have shot the Stinger in 100 gr. in my Exomax and 380 Matrix. Love the design and look of the head however for some reason I could not get then to hit even close to my field points. Tried changing the blade orientation etc. still could not get the consistency that I desired. Went back to my tried ...

Re: hunting in the rain
Well that cold front just passed thru Southern Michigan about an hour ago. High wind and horizontal rain...I was pacing the floor early (4:30 am)trying to decide if I should go out or not knowing high wind was part of the event. Anyway heading out this afternoon. Hunting in the rain, have done a lot...

Re: Aluminum Arrows
Aluminum for me as well. I have been using Easton aluminum 2216 arrows in first my Exomax four years and now my 380 Matrix for the last 2 years. Make my own and so far never had a problem with breaking or bending..unless I try to shoot a group which I no longer do...lol. I just see no need for me pe...

Re: Shot a Buck this afernoon
Sorry it didn't work out. If you hunt long enough it will happen to you it is just part of the landscape in hunting. A twig, a movement by the deer, anything can make for a bad shot. I have been at this game for 51 years this year and I experienced a couple of bad hits over the years. Sleepless nigh...

Re: Shot a Buck this afernoon
If you have yotes in the area he will be reduced to hide and bones by morning. I had this happen once and went out and listened for the yotes yipping and howling. followed the racket right to my buck.. I carry a sidearm so was not concerned about the coyotes but it is a good way to find a wounded de...

Re: Brace height vs limb stress
I agree and have thought the same thing... the shorter you twist the string to achieve greater brace height the further back the limbs must be stressed to complete the cocking of the bow. In other words shorter string = longer draw cycle for the limbs... One reason I don't agree with the lower brace...
