Re: Dialed In The Excalibur Eclipse XT Last Evening.
O YA  And the kicker is, no $25.00 or more for boxes of ammo. 8) Yep has been a real motivator for me too! I was on an AR-15 kick for a while, but then I realized how much money I was spending  After I got my Ibex I sold that gun and bought a ton of goodies for my bow. I bought a total...

Re: Just shot my new Ibex
Yep, the Ibex is just plain AWESOME!!! I also got an aluminum rail Ibex about 2 months ago and I am in love. My wife is jealous and she says I spend more time with my crossbow than I do with her. I put a Hawke 1.5-5X32 MAP scope on mine and it is amazingly accurate! I have the speed dial set...

Re: Another Weekend Project 'Bolt Rack'
That is pretty sweet! I have been thinking about making something similar to that for mine. I have been using the boxes that my arrows were shipped in to make racks for my arrows. It actually works pretty good, I cut the boxes in half and then stick one half inside the other to give it some strength...

Re: a fishing trip and reminder........
Awesome fish! I love to go fishing for panfish. There is a small reservoir about 30 minutes from my house via ATV that is full of smallmouth bass and sunfish. My son and I used to go there all the time and if for some reason the bass weren't hitting you could count on catching sunfish all day long!!...

Re: Some Questions
welcome to the best forum on the web! I have taken the riser and limbs off the stock on my Ibex twice and my POI didn't change at all, or if it did it wasn't enough to be noticeable to me. The Excal's are so well built that your limbs and riser will mount right back to where they were. If you do tak...

Re: My Tower stand
Yeah, that is a tough position your in bud. It would suck to make an enemy out of a neighbor, but by the way your describing him, he brought it on himself. I would never go on someone else s property without permission, let alone sit in and ruin the tower stand. I think you are on the right track th...

Re: R&D Help
My son hit the first joint of his thumb and he was using the deck railing on our porch as a rest. He had the xbow on the railing and his hand wasn't under the forearm like it would normally be. I think he didn't know where to put his other hand and ended up deciding on the wrong position. For you id...

Re: My son learned a lesson the hard way today
You know, I was really expecting to see a badly mangled thumb after seeing what has happened to ppl on this site. He did get very lucky, and when I pick up the bow to shoot now I find myself checking finger position on every shot! Thanks to everyone for the comments, I was afraid with that happening...

My son learned a lesson the hard way today
My son is 15 going on 16 and has taken interest in my crossbow. So I of course am more than willing to spend the time with him teaching him how to shoot it. We have spent the last 3 weeks practicing together once or twice each week. And on the first night before he ever took a shot, one of the first...

Re: season regs.changes for the good
Yeah WOW, unlimited does!! Holy crossbow fun Batman, I need to come down there for hunting!! Here in PA with our general license purchase you can take 1 buck or 1 doe. Then you can also get doe tags for our WMU's. I believe the limit is 3 doe tags, which is still alot of hunting. But I can't believe...

Re: Viper X string
I have 2 strings for my Ibex from ViperX. Both are very well made and I have only used one of them so far. On the one I have been using I have about 150 shots on it and the center serving is holding up very well! Also the string is made with BCY 8190 and I have only needed to adjust the brace height...

Making a flemish string out of fast flight plus
I ordered and received a couple of 1/4# spools of brownells fast flight plus. I have made several flemish strings for my Ibex out of B-50 dacron and use 32 strands. I'm wondering how many strands to use with the Fast Flight Plus material? Surely 32 will work, but I'm wondering if I can safely use an...

Re: Hawke 1.5-5X MAP scope
OK I have determined that I just didn't spend enough time with the Hawke scope last night to get it set up correctly. After spending some time in the BRC program I came up with two setups that I liked and tested them this morning. 1. Magnification @ 2.0X gives me the advertised 10yd increments, whic...

Re: Hawke 1.5-5X MAP scope
Yep I understand that the yardage on the "speed ring" is just a guide so I am going to ignore that part and just try to use the BRC program to tune the scope for my Ibex. Ok well I found out I had an older version of the Hawke BRC program and it didn't have my MAP scope on it. I went back ...

Re: Hawke 1.5-5X MAP scope
Just a little more info, previous to installing the Hawke scope I was using the TRUGLO red dot that came with my kit. I had it set on the 300fps setting(lowest one for the sight), and I had it zeroed at 20yds hitting about 1 inch high, and the dots for 30, 40, & 50yds were dead on.
