Re: Anyone broke an arrow inside a deer?
Last year(Oct. 30th)I was sitting in a ground blind and shot a nice doe at approx. 18 yards broadside.Hit her a little higher up than planned because she was on the low side of a steep angled hill and she wouldn't walk up higher for me to get a heart shot.Shot her with a 20" carbon Deer Crossin...

Re: Lighted Nocks or Not?
First time I shot a Luminoc Arrow,it cost me a deer.I had a semi dry fire because the arrow fletching did not sit completely flat on the rail, which caused the flat nock not to be dead center with the string.I checked the other vanes on the other 2 arrows and found that the vanes were just a hair hig...

Re: Matrix 380 Broadhead Troubles
Sight in using the broadheads.See what broadhead shoots the best for the maximum distance you plan to take game at.Field points and broadheads normally never shoot at the same point of impact, especially the farther distance you shoot.Field points are just used to get your broadheads in the center of...

Re: Range finder
I bought the Simmons 600 range finder off the Cabelas Website and got a free pair of Simmons binoculars. Both came in a foam padded hard plastic case.Total $114.00 not counting shipping. Not a bad deal.I think the binoculars are 8x42.

Re: My broadhead tipped bolts are all over the place
I also shoot an Axiom with the string that came on it.How ever,I shoot Easton 2219 aluminum arrows with the 150 grain Bolt Cutters.Once sighted in at 20 yards with the broadhead,I moved back to 50 yards and sighted in while shooting from a bench rest.I have a Varizone scope so the speed has to be ad...

Re: looking for the best bolts to use for my axiom
I'm shooting Easton 2219 aluminum 20" with a 150 grn. Bolt Cutter Broadhead.I paid $32 for 6 arrows(4" vane, flat nock)at a Dunhams' Sporting goods store.Shooting into a block target at 30 yards I have to turn the block side ways because the arrows will go completely through the front of th...

Re: Best place to buy Excalibur in Michigan?
If you're any where close to Cabelas, they should have some on display.I ordered my Axiom from Cabelas' 3 years ago on line. Then I ordered another Axiom last year on line.Never had any problems.First bow was ordered without even seeing the bow or trying the bow first.Loved it so much,I bought a secon...

Re: What was it? Partial Dry fire, Bad Arrow, or???
My guess would be a partial dry fire.Could have been caused by the string not completely centered on the flat nock.I had this happen when I went to shoot a deer using Burt Coyotes' Luminock arrows.Apparently the arrows' vane was just a tad higher when sitting in the channel on the rail causing the s...

Re: Nikon Rangefinder
As far as my Simmons Range finder,I bought the extended 3 yr warranty for an additional $15.Never got the chance to use it.Been going on almost 6 or 8 yrs. Can't remember for sure.Never had a problem other than replacing the 9 volt battery. Most range finders use round flat batteries.Like I stated in ...

Re: Nikon Rangefinder
No experience with this range finder. If you go to the Cabelas Website they have a great deal on a Simmons 600 Range Finder/with a pair of Binocculars(10x42) for $114.00.I paid $5 shipping.I think the $5 shipping ended yesterday.I have the Simmons 600 Range Finder and for the price and for bowhunting...

Re: 2219 lighted nocks
Quick question. How would the nock lighting up make a difference in tracking your deer?Or did you make a bad shot due to some kind of arrow defect?Maybe I'm missing something.Glad you did find the deer.Congratulations on sticking with it...

Re: Broadhead for Moose
I would use the 150 grain Excal Bolt Cutters(fixed blade)broadhead with an Easton Aluminum arrow.Check the Easton chart for the heaviest weight arrow.More than likely you won't be shooting past 40 yards. This set up will give you a clean pass through shot with plenty of blood for tracking if the moos...

Re: What's a good rangefinder?
X4 on the Simmons 600.Paid an extra $15 dollars for an extended 3 yr warranty.Never used it.Going on 8 years now.If you're only going to use a range finder for bow hunting, buy the cheapest price. You won't be shooting past 40 yards max.Now if you're going to also shoot rifle, then any range finder tha...

Re: Bolt/Arrow recommendations? Kind of a noob
I bought DEER CROSSING ARROWS at a discount price when they were first advertised on another Archery Forum(Crossbow Nation). The arrows shot pretty well considering how cheap I bought them for at the time.I wouldn't shoot them for hunting but,for just basic target shooting and practice they worked fi...

Re: What's Your Longest Crossbow Shooting?
When sighting in my Varizone scope,I shot out to 50 yards using a shooting bench and a range finder.I was shooting Easton 2219 aluminum arrows with a 150 grain Bolt Cutter Broad Head. Was able to put the arrow inside the bullseye the size of a 50 cent piece consistently. However,I was not able to hit ...
