Re: Ticks!
Excellent tick population here! Many of them are almost microscopic and hard to notice at first. I always spray myself with repellent but till find several ticks on me every time I get out of the yard. My two grandsons were up at the farm with us on Friday. My wife sprayed them both, but I found tic...

Re: Vimy Ridge
Canada and the US are great allies. We in the US too often think that we won the two world wars with a little help. The truth is that the contributions of each of our allies were essential to victory. Vimy Ridge is just one of many examples of Canadian strategic brilliance and bravery that helped wi...

Re: Canning Venison ?
I have shared some fresh wild turkey meat with some Amish farmers near my farm and in return, they he given me some canned venison (in jars, in case someone wondered). One of the jars contained what they called baloney and I'm not sure what cut the other one was. Both were fine but I see no advantag...

Re: Best 3 things I've bought.....so far
I like my two tripod deerstands. They both have 360 degree shooting rails that I cover with thick pipe insulation. I take a 10' X 12' camo tarp and fold it over to be 5' X 12' tarp and add one grommet between each existing grommet. I then hang it from the shooting rail with zip ties in each grommet....

Re: New TOTA 3 blade broadhead
I switched to mechanicals (X-Acts) a few years ago and I've been mostly glad. They fly well and left short, easily followed blood trails. My only problem with them is they aren't easy to re-use. After shooting one, you have to find replacement parts and then hope you re-assembled the head correctly ...

OT \ Battery chainsaws
I've had a Stihl Farm Boss chainsaw for over 20 years, and it still runs about as well as it did when new. A couple of years ago I bought a battery powered pole saw and I really like how you just keep the battery charged and cut away. You do need bar oil (just like gasoline saws) but, other than tha...
