Re: midway usa

FWIW, I've had good luck with Midway. Provided the items are in stock, they usually ship quick.

Re: Fixed or Mechanical

I simply will not take a chance on mechanicals. I bought the Excalibur for the main reason of simplicity. Less moving parts and more reliable and accuarate. I know that there have been a many of deer killed with mechanicals and never had a lick of trouble but I simply will not do it personally. Bes...

Raymond
The strands of serving material are tied on to keep the splice from untwisting... Usually removed once the string is twisted up and installed.

Wabi, lighting plays a big role when taking a photo... I would be willing to bet that the CBN photo is a more accurate representation of its true color.

Re: broadhead beveled washer ???????

Could shoot a 1/2" diameter arrow with those heads. So long as the hole you're cutting is bigger than the shaft. A little bit of brass showing wont effect anything.

Re: Finish Durability????

My only "complaint" (If you could call it that?) is that the "black carbon" highlights wear marks, whereas they would just blend in with a camo finish.

Heh, Larry beat me to it.

In my opinion it's hard to beat Hot-Melt... Strong hold, with quick removal and replacement.

Tinker, I am not mechanical like you; however, I am enjoying this thread. Could you explain in layman terms what you are doing with this project? What are you trying to improve on? If you have the time ... thanks. All the best. haha. I'm as lost as you are... Just hoping for photos once it's finish...

45# Recurve, sharp 2 blade broadhead, well placed shot within 15 yards - I have no doubt that you'll put a few down.

If shooting fixed blades, anything under 1 1/4" will fit the riser cut-out. My 1 1/8" Tricks tuck in nicely.
