Re: Weak limbs or limbs breaking in?

Well...I spoke with Danny Miller and apprised him of my findings. He advised, "just shoot it and call me when there is a real problem." Unreal... I guess when I have the opportunity, I will cock the bow and check the limbs and then take off the string and check the limb bolts. Nothing else...

Re: Weak limbs or limbs breaking in?

I'd talk to Bill T again and be sure he understands which direction the string is moving. From his response I'd guess he thought it was normal string stretch. The only time I have ever had a string go the direction yours is (increased brace height) was with a compound bow, and that problem was soon...

Re: Weak limbs or limbs breaking in?

Put as politely as I can, something is wrong. It's physically impossible to be in the xbow, that leaves pilot error, which is why I suggested you get another string and start over. You can go either route here, try and solve your problem or bash Excal. The former will work better for you than the l...

Re: Weak limbs or limbs breaking in?

That's what I love about you guys...diligence. The string is moving to point "A." So...it is not the string. If it were, it would be moving to point B, but it isn't. So...whatcha think. Limbs? The limb bolts are tight, at least with the bow being strung. Should take the string off and then...

Re: Weak limbs or limbs breaking in?

Hey all...I asked "Bill T" about this issue. He responded with the follwoing: "I honestly have no idea why, you are right, it is normal for the string to stretch a little, but it will make zero difference in the performance of your crossbow. A few thousands here or there is not really...

No way...it's in the house. It goes two places, in the house or in the woods behind the house. No! It's not stored in the heat, car or anything as such.

Re: Weak limbs or limbs breaking in?

Read you post twice and I'm still not clear on which direction the string has moved. :? If it's moving toward the riser that is perfectly normal. A dacron string will never completely stop elongating. It will slow down, but never stop. If it's moving away from the riser it's not the string! You hav...

Weak limbs or limbs breaking in?

Hey all, First, Happy New Year! I need some technical input. I have had my Vortex for about two months now. When I picked it up from the archery shop, I had to let quite a few twists out of the stock string to get it in between the two marks on the flight deck. It was equally adjusted in between the...

Re: OT - prayer request

Done Brother! Matthew 6 5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to ...

S5 string shock suppression system review

Good day Friends, Ok...I asked in earlier posts about the S5 system, now I am able to provide my own review. I just recieved the S5 system. I shot several arrows prior to installing the S5 system and shot several arrows after installation of the S5 system. I then removed the S5 system and repeated t...

Re: Meat Grinder/Sausage/Pepperette machine

Walmart.com also carries a lot of hunting supplies as well and usually has the best prices. Walmart.com also carries Excalibur accessories at a very good price. As for the brand of meat processing items, most are fairly compatable. I would read the reviews online from where you are purchasing the it...

Performance help needed from all / including technicians

Good day Friends, I am soliciting your help. I'm new to XBows but not to archery. I know what it takes to get the best performance and reduced noise from a compound bow. Now...I want to get the same from my Vortex. I've read a lot of valuable information given by a lot of you...Thanks! Please! Give ...

Re: Vortex speeds???

I just recieved my Vortex. I have it tuned in and it's killin' 60yards with a consistent 3-4 inch group. Dangerous! I am shooting Fire Bolts (carbon arrows), 370-373 grains, with the factory string. It chronographs at 300fps. Not impressed or really happy about the speed. I ascertained one factor to...

Just received my Vortex any input?

Good day All, I received my Vortex. Very happy with the finish, machine work, and lightness of the xbow. I have noticed the stock creeks at the the end where it meets the aluminum rail by the buttstock/safety lever assembly. I like the safety mechinism compaired to the dryfire on the rest of the bow...
