Re: Chronograph report, Exocet 200

How are these heavier excaliburs doing shooting these light arrows? I've always shot arrows between 420-430gr, never attempted anything close to 350gr. I just figure the lack of FPS would be made up for with the added KE.

Re: got my bow in today!...but I have a problem

These stories always seem to have a happy ending ;) Glad to hear you're back in business. +1 to those who say get a stringing aid, it's probably the best purchase I've made outside of my Ibex. They sure do come in handy and extra strings are always a plus! Keeps you out in the field longer! Hey, you...

Re: Making and testing a good arrow

One of the guys on AT (randyxx75) built a home made spine tester. I would like to build something like this to get my arrows grouping better, but for now I'm going the long route as you do Masboy. It's a long process and I too wish I had more time. http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/attachment.php?attach...

Re: It's Here!!! WOOP!!! WOOP!!! WOOP!!!

Your enthusiasm reminds me a lot of how I felt when I unboxed and assembled my Ibex :) It is a great bow that will serve you well. Respect your bow and you will be rewarded for years to come!

Great bow, have one myself and find myself shooting it more than my other bows. Enjoy and have fun!

Re: After weeks of research Got me a VORTEX coming

I've probably shot a couple hundred times between my bows (I'm new too), and only ever lost 2 arrows. One shot off into some tall grass in my pasture, the other is stuck in the wooden backstop on my target. Both were lost when trying to sight in. Once you get sighted in, the chance to lose an arrow ...

Re: After weeks of research Got me a VORTEX coming

Watch the whole DVD. Assemble it along with the Bill. He will give you a great welcoming into the Excalibur family and get you off on the right foot with your brand spankin new recurve! I echo what others have said. Respect your bow at all times. These babys pack a punch and are deadly accurate. I h...

Re: Black Eagle Executioner Arrows

Just got a couple dozen of these shafts in from Randy @ Black Eagle. Went with the 20" as I think they'll do better in the long run with both of my bows. If I would have thought about it a little more I would have went with the 22"'s and just cut some down to 20" so I had the option a...

Anyone use HHA Speed Optimizer?

Anyone use(d) one on their excalibur? If so why? If you used to, why did you take it off? In my mind it seems to go against the whole "simply perfect" mindset that you get into with an Excalibur. I just can't stand the current optics offerings out there, and wasn't happy with the 2.5x Axio...

Re: S5 string shock suppression system review

Cool video to show what these add-ons take a beating from! Would love to see the S5 in a video like this, or heck even some comparison videos to check time to stop movement vs a naked bow, etc.

Re: Axiom SMF upgrades

The S5 seems to be the best bang for your buck. If you can afford both and don't mind the added weight. That's what I did. I will say that the noise reduction seemed minimal compared to the reduction in vibration and recoil. Those little rubber pads do good to absorb the shock the limbs and string d...

Re: Black Eagle Executioner Arrows

Its hard too beat that Arizona EZ Fletch once you get used to it. These arrows definitely shoot good I knew not to shoot that 4th arrow thats the one that took off the blazer vane. Hard to resist sometimes! If I had more arrows I'd probably have taken the chance myself :) What scope are you using t...

Re: Notice alot of hunters use smaller bows

Flatter trajectory is the biggest factor. Even then, you're pretty close between 250-350 fps out to 30 yards, past then the difference in arrow drop really shows. http://www.excaliburcrossbow.com/content/arrow_ballistics As was said arrow placement being the most important as far as assuring a kill....

Just got some in from Cabelas, little spendy this wax but surely the good stuff from what I've heard. Gonna use some after my next target session.
