Re: Deer Feeder Question

I bought this one and got it for a little over $43.00 including tax in the store. Has good reviews. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Moultrie-All ... er/5933978 It was very easy to Program and install. I set it up for feeding twice a day at 6 sec. for each feeding. It's just the right size for this small ...

Re: Man Was I Spoiled!!

In 2012 a friend and I found a real Honey Hole. Got many Game Camera pics of some real brutes. It was a small strip of Public Land along the river. Had the river on one side and a big slough on the other. One end of the slough was open to the river and the back end had an old earthen dam. This penin...

Deer Feeder Question

My friend who owns the 3.5 acre spot I am hunting has agreed to let me put up a programmable deer feeder. I'm trying to get the deer there when I am in the Blind. I've never used a Broadcast type deer feeder before so was wondering how I should begin the feeding. How often to run it and at how long ...

Re: ALWAYS Check Your Broadheads for POI

Here's how I look at it. I have spent a lot of money on hunting gear not to mention gas to get to my areas. In addition my down river area requires a 25 minute boat ride one way and camping in the boat. I'm not going to sit out in a cold Ground Blind or up in an open Tree Stand for hours not knowing...

Bobcat Video

Deer Hunting with Exomax when he came in instead.

The first part is me trying to zoom in on the Bobcat. Be patient the rest of the video is better. I was in my Ground Blind and he sat out in front of it at about 15 feet staring at me.

Down River Hunt Trip

Spent last night out on the river up a large creek in my boat. Got down into the mid 30's but I slept warm and cozy with my sleeping bag. Hunted the same spot where I killed the 5 point buck on 11/14 with my Exomax. Saw a doe with 2 fawns just before dark last night and no more deer after that. The ...

Buddy's Back Yard Buck

Taken on the 3.5 acre place I have been hunting. Me and the Exomax will focus on this place now that I am done gun hunting. http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h144/ko4nrbs/P1050967_zpsowaoeajv.jpg Going down river tomorrow and stay out one night in the boat. Hunting the spot where I got the little 5 ...

Excalibur Crossbow Family

I started it all getting a used Exomax which I love. Killed a 5 pt. buck with it 11/14. One of my brothers then goes out and buys an Axiom and Matrix Grizzly. He gave the Axiom to his grandson and kept the Grizzly for himself. A different brother (have 3) decided he needed a crossbow to so he bought...

Cull Buck??

One of my friends believes the little buck I shot is a 4 to 4 1/2 year old runt. He said it was good I took him out of the herd because of this. Does he look that old to you? I know it's hard to tell just from a pic and could only know by examining his teeth or ?? http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h...

Re: Motivation Problem

My wife is my motivator!! She makes sure I get out as much as I can so I don't sit around and whine after the season is over. When I hunt down river she drives the van back home with the boat trailer after launching the boat just in case vandals appear at the parking area while I am gone. When I am ...

Re: Boat Deer Success

Thank goodness I at least get to hunt vicariously through all of you. :D Paul Paul I have been doing the same thing for a few years now. It's very difficult in this area to find hunting spots with a sizeable enough deer population for consistent success. I have been scouting and hunting this area o...

Boat Deer Success

Went down river yesterday and got all set up in the Ground Blind about 12PM. At around 5PM a small buck shows up. Shot him with the Exomax at about 30 yards. The arrow and broad head went threw both sides of the deer breaking a rib on each side. He went about 50 yards or so for an easy recovery. The...

The deer here swim like fish. I've seen them swim across the river a few times.
