Re: Need help for daughter.
Lot’s of really good suggestions!! Lot’s to ponder.
I will take her to Cabelas and let her shoulder some rifles and crossbows. She really likes my Exomax but no way would she be able to pack it very far.

Need help for daughter.
My 36 year old single daughter has just informed me she wants me to take her deer hunting. I am now tasked with recommending her a rifle and crossbow. I chose 30-30 caliber for her and will go with a lever action. Whether it’s a Marlin, Henry, etc. is up to her. Ok I need some recommendations from y...

Re: If you had to replace your crossbow...
I have so much confidence in my Exomax I would buy another. Not to say the newer and more narrow crossbows can’t get it done. A more narrow crossbow would be nice in my ground blinds but i’ve been able to find ways to use the Exomax successfully. I guess I am very reluctant to take a chance when dee...

Re: Cocking rope failure
Get Amsteel rope, comes in several diameters and lengths, I use around 1/8” with no problems for cocking and stringing aides. Jody5252, pm me your address and I will send you a yard or so. Double knot the ends, and burn the frayed strands to make a bulb on the end. Dan In my opinion using anything ...

Re: Texas Opening Week and Trespassers!! Geez!!
Years ago trespassers on my Uncle’s Place got stuck in the Oklahoma red clay. Hiked up to his house and asked if he would pull them out with his tractor. Instead he called the Game Warden(his cousin) and the Sheriff(another cousin). The trespassers has a very bad experience then. In addition they h...

Re: You gotta love Illinois
That has to be the stupidest law I have ever heard of!! Definitely trying to discourage crossbow hunting. Does the law apply to vertical bows? This kind of chicken crap is why my daughter and her husband just left Illinois for Alabama. I wonder how many gang bangers in South Chicago have their handg...

Re: Wow!! No punches pulled!!
I killed a buck last year at 40 yards as measured with my Range Finder. Seemed like a longer shot than that at the time. No 50 yard shots for me. Was lucky to find an opening in the brush for a 40 yard shot. Had my share of arrows getting tangled up in limbs never to be seen again. He was so interes...

Re: question on bolt broadhead weight
The only specification I have seen is for a speed of 305 fps with a 350 grain arrow and 150 grain field points. It really boils down to what broadhead/arrow combination works best for you. Do a web search on arrow FOC and go from there. Too light an arrow/broadhead combination could damage your cros...
