Re: Wow!! No punches pulled!!

I killed a buck last year at 40 yards as measured with my Range Finder. Seemed like a longer shot than that at the time. No 50 yard shots for me. Was lucky to find an opening in the brush for a 40 yard shot. Had my share of arrows getting tangled up in limbs never to be seen again. He was so interes...

Re: question on bolt broadhead weight

The only specification I have seen is for a speed of 305 fps with a 350 grain arrow and 150 grain field points. It really boils down to what broadhead/arrow combination works best for you. Do a web search on arrow FOC and go from there. Too light an arrow/broadhead combination could damage your cros...

Wow!! No punches pulled!!

Stumbled onto this video tonight. He definitely has an opinion and doesn't mind expressing it. Is it that common for people to shott at a deer at 100 yards? I've never seen anyone shoot at any animal at 100 yards with a crossbow but that doesn't mean someone hasn't. Bill https://www.youtube.com/watc...

Re: Dang Ticks!!

I use Sawyer repellent here in Oklahoma. Have used it for several years now. No ticks found when I use it as recommended. We have a real problem with ticks here but I have been tick free. https://sawyer.com/products/permethrin-insect-repellent-treatment/ Don't spray it directly on your skin. Follow ...

Re: Bow tune up

Scary!! In my humble opinion he's a slacker. One very good friend of mine does similar things with his guns. He has over 20 guns and some are brand new or at least they used to be. Most look pretty bad now. As an example he left a beautiful Ruger 25-06 in his garage for many years. Living in Washing...

Re: Extra limbs

On occasion I have been known to do some pretty stupid things. As tough as my Exomax is it is not indestructible. I have a spare set of limbs and a spare scope. I wait too long for deer season to take any chances I will be waiting to get my crossbow fixed. Lost over a week a few years ago when my sc...

Storing Strings

What is the best way to store strings, i.e. just hang them up, hang with some tension on them, or just roll them up and put in a drawer?

Re: No Hunting!!

It certainly shows that the land owner thought that no one else would possibly be as respectful as you. Quite a compliment. He is my fishing buddy and church buddy. I have known him a very long time. He is worried about his neighbors who warmed up to me pretty slowly. He has them all eating deer sa...

Too bad it seems you may not have enough time to see if you could bring a buddy to hunt with you and demonstrate that both of you are good risks as hunting guests.
Yea not enough time.

No Hunting!!

Since I am moving my hunting spot will be available. I asked the landowner about him letting someone else hunt there and he said no way. He told me his neighbors have had very positive comments about me and no complaints. He added that in no way would he risk it with someone else. His mind is made u...

New house requirements

Just sold the house in Oklahoma and buying one in Huntsville, Alabama. Told the wife what the must haves are. 1. Big enough yard so I can practice with the Exomax. 2. Covered spot to park the boat if the garage is not big enough. 3. Mature trees for my Ham Radio antenna’s. 4. Nice air conditioned bu...

Re: Deer decoys?

Check these decoys out https://deerdecoy.org/ Easy to carry and set up. I’ve killed two nice bucks using his Buck decoy. https://deerdecoy.org/ So easy to set up, very light, durable, can spray descenter on them all season long, and effective. I hose them off real good before I put them away after ...
