Ronnie, how is it for you to cock it? Better start saving for another one (or a Vixen) for your future hunting partner.....

Nice to meet you, too, Peter. Thanks for the tips on cocking a 405 while sitting down!

Re: Help with first crossbow - Ibex vs. Matrix
so...which did you decide on? I have been struggling with a similar decision. I have an exocet, and need/want a bow for my kids/guests to use. I started out thinking of a $250 Barnett Jackal, then a used axiom/Ibex...but now I am thinking of either a new axiom/ibex for the guest bow, or buying mysel...

Re: Report from the Harrisburg Outdoor Show
....now having had the opportunity to shoot my exocet with the stock trigger and compare with my recall of the triggertech trigger...the triggertech triggers are nice (versions with creep and without creep), the excel stock trigger is pretty good too. A personal preference thing.

Re: Report from the Harrisburg Outdoor Show
OK, here is my Outdoor Show report. The short summary; it was worth the two hour ride (each way). Got to town at around noon. Bad traffic jam on Cameron Street, starting about 2 miles away from the farm complex. Why? The place was mobbed. The parking lots were all full at midday on a Friday, and peo...

Re: Report from the Harrisburg Outdoor Show
Leaving shortly to go to Harrisburg...taking the rest of the day off. I figure Saturday will be too crowded.
This is all Anthony and Peter's fault.

Re: Questions on buying Matrix 380
I don't think the cocking aid gives you any "gear reduction" except for evenly splitting the draw load . Sorry, it does. It cut's the effort in half.......... yep. I was thinking about that as I typed. If the handle moves 2" and the string only moves 1".....then there must be a ...

Re: Report from the Harrisburg Outdoor Show
Thanks Peter. In my delusional mind I will take that as a personal invitation from a key exhibitor....so now I am back to spending the time, spending the money, polluting the environment, and now risking my life to get there in the snow.... But I will bring only afew bucks cash for admission, a pret...

Re: Report from the Harrisburg Outdoor Show
"If you wanted to test fire any crossbow from the various manufacturers there was a place set up to do so..." Well now this might cost me and mother earth all of the expense that your other post might have saved. But....snow predicted for Saturday so hopefully that will convince me to sta...

Re: Meat grinder
I just bought a SunMile 1.6 HP meat grinder from amazon for $90 delivered. It's 1.6 hp peak....I think only 600W nominal. It's well made....I've only ground up one doe's worth of meat so far, but it seems to be quite adequate. It does presumably have nylon gearing, but all the grinding parts are alu...

Re: Questions on buying Matrix 380
My bad. I am using a cocking aid. I am using the string that comes with the package from Danny. Though they were talking about the cocking aid that goes on the butt of the stock. No way would I use just my hands trying to pull it back. One it would be a monster, 2 if I did not sure if it would be e...

Re: Questions on buying Matrix 380
There is no way that you (or any other normal human) is going to pull back the string on a Matrix without at least a string cocking aid. For every inch that you pull the string back with a string cocking aid, the handle will move back, I beleive, two inches. So for a 14" draw length the handles...

Re: Report from the Harrisburg Outdoor Show
You probably just saved me 4 hours of driving, 4 hours of frustration, and the associated fuel, admission, and food costs. Not to mention the carbon emissions and other environmental impacts.
On behalf of my wallet, my schedule, and mother earth, thanks.
