I would try to keep it for a bit, it would be highly educational at the very least. I have raised almost every type of wildlife around here from young (I am licensed to do so) and it can be very rewarding. No matter how tame you can make it it will still eventually turn into a typical coyote though...

Coyote Pup
I got a question for you guys who know something about coyotes. It seems I'm up to my eyeballs in them here. This morning I heard a whining sound under my house, so, figuring it was my neighbor's little dog sneaked under the fence, I went out to put her back over in her yard. When I got there, I fou...

LV2HUNT, now that you mentioned the coyotes following your dad, I thought about when I have seen them while still hunting. All but the last one was when I was backtracking out of an area. I don't think they are stalking us so much as they are hoping we will get a kill or drop some morsel for them to...

First Hunt
Yesterday I took my 4 year old girl out on her first hunt. We didn't see any deer, but she was very quiet and sat longer than I thought. http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t290/BigTiny2014/DSC04697.jpg Apparently, the thrill of the hunt was just too much for her! http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t...

This time of year is especially bad for burglaries and home invasions. One year I had to respond to 3 separate home invasions in one night by myself. Why no backup? It was because my fellow officers were out doing the same thing. The last 2 in the district got a cop on the scene over an hour after d...

I get the deer cut up as quickly as possible and once it is quartered, I leave it in the cooler in ice water to bleed out. I drain it twice a day and put more ice in once per day. I keep doing that until the water comes out light pink. An older guy at my church who used to be a butcher told me to do...
