Someone on this forum told us to use lawn mower starting cord as a replacement string for the cocker.
Please don't. It's not designed for that much force.

Re: Cocking rope failure

Get Amsteel rope, comes in several diameters and lengths, I use around 1/8” with no problems for cocking and stringing aides. Jody5252, pm me your address and I will send you a yard or so. Double knot the ends, and burn the frayed strands to make a bulb on the end.

No woriies, the deer don't know any different if a paint fleck is missing from your limb. Can you post a photo of the miissing paint fleck so we all can see what your talking about? I prefer the warrior look myself. Why didn't you use any of your other Excaliburs? :eusa-popcorn: :eusa-popcorn:

Re: FOC Question

Thanks Don, This calculator is very helpful. The longer shaft reduces FOC but only by a very small amount. The weight of the front insert and broadhead are what influence the FOC to a very high degree. Just think of a see-saw when you were a kid. It's really quite simple, but this calculator does s...

Re: I just don’t know

Chief, I bought an Axe for the incredible deal. I love it, Mag 40 now, but same chit. I must admit though that the older bows to me are more appealing. It's easier to rope cock my Matrix 380 than it is for the 340 Micro. That said, I had an itch for another Vortex, this one is my project bow which i...

Re: noisy Axiom

Might be the arrow retainer. Do not try to bend it installed on the trigger, you will bend it too much. Don’t ask me how I know. :eusa-whistle:

Good luck, we’re going Monday and Tuesday with hopes of the opportunity for another buck, and a doe or two.

Thanksgiving Tradition

Every year we get together either my place, or my sister in law's. This year we went there and watched the deer parade, another story, but we have a tradition after our dinner prayer that we go around the table and everyone says what they are thankful for. I went first this year, and thanked God for...

Re: Cracked limb on Axe update

A day of missed hunting on one of the days that I know I have a chance to score is worth more to me than 100 some odd smackers any day! You can swap limbs and take a couple shots, and you're ready to go, won't take a long time, and don't have to a degree in anything to get them swapped out.

There is nothing the vortex won't do that your BD330 won't do just as well or better. Except maybe anchor your Pirate Ship.

Re: How much for a Vortex?

The Vortex is a great crossbow, that’s a lot of $$ for one but you don’t have a lot of options. It’s easy to cock, and rock solid.
Good luck with your decision.
