Re: Realtree AP vs. Mossy Oak
I prefer the Realtree AP. I find that Mossy Oak and Realtree APG tend to be too Green for most of the hunting seasons in Western WI. Once the leaves turn in the fall, there are more browns than brighter greens. Same thing for spring turkey - things just have not greened up enough. It's hard to tell ...

Re: new hunter questions
I'm up in western WI, so our needs are a little, different, but in general, my prioriy for hunting clothing is 1) quiet - soft quiet materials. Noise is a hunters worst enemy 2) comfort - especially footwear 3) dry- nothing worse than being wet, and that includes your body moist. Jackets and boots Mu...

Re: could plastic knocks cause misfire
Not sure if it was a nock, shaft, other issue or some I did ( I.e. not fully seating the bolt). Was shooting a like new zoombie that I got from Newbie as part of a trial kit (3 executioners and 3 zombies), heard a strange sound and saw a weird flight. It was the first time i had shot that bolt, but ...

Opps. 1st Dry Fire
Did my first dry fire last night. Rushing to get a couple last shots in last night and between getting set up and swatting mosquitoes, forgot to load an arrow and thunk.
Feel like an idiot, but the goodness for the Guardian Anti-Dry-Fire.

Re: My Dilemma
#1 and #2 are definitely different deer. I've got about 100 pictures of each. These were the best angles to show off side view. #2 has a Split Right Bow Tine. I think these #1 & #2 might be brothers as they are often together.

Re: My Dilemma
PS - To find the trail cam, just head about 60 yards past our barn, just a little down the hill.

Re: My Dilemma
The 9 and 10 are plain beautiful. The 13 is a little weird. We've been watching him for about 2 months and rack is looking better as the season progresses. There are some good genes currently in the are area. I caught this monster on our trail cam once 2 years ago. A friends brother in-law shot it o...

Re: My Dilemma
Plenty of Arrows - Only one Bow Tag (we rifle hunt at my in-laws farm) - These are running around our 15 acres where we live just out side the city. Legal to rifle hunt, but difficult due to small parcels and proximity of the neighbors so not too much rifle pressure in our immediate area. Hopefully ...

My Dilemma
Please Help Me Decide - These three bucks have been showing up at our feeder at least every other night (along with 3 other smaller 6 to 8 pts) . Which would you target? Would you pass up a shot at #1 for #2 or #3?

Re: Sportsmans guide warehouse?
Have never bought from them on line, but stop by their outlet store in South St Paul, MN once in awhile. Most of the stuff in the store is overstock and open box but you can order new from the catalog and pick it up. Staff is friendly helpful. Never had an issue with them. Was just there about. 2 we...

Re: Hog Weed Alert
Sounds similar to Wild Parsnip (same family) - Wild Parsnip is a little smaller and has yellow flowers and is a bad invasive species here in Western WI. It grows all over in the ditches and open fields. Similarly, it's sap is causes a bad burn when exposed to sunlight. I got into it several years ag...

Re: blizzard caps
Yes. Depends on the weather. They are spring load and are just tight enough they stay closed, yet a light nudge with a finger and the pop open. They are clear plastic lens so you can through them without opening - useful if your peaking at target but not sure you going to take as shot.

Re: blizzard caps
I use them on all my scopes. Often take them off on nice days, but great to have on nasty days.
