Re: Is this true?

While I agree that a 125 grain broad head will give you a flatter trajectory, it does not mean that it will be more accurate than 150 grain broad head. Accuracy is a matter of hitting what you are aiming at and being able to repeat it over and over again. Too many variables go into making an accurat...

Re: Arrow Question for Math Whizes

OK now I am so confused. If you are shooting a 150 boltcutter out of a exocet which is the best set up a 2 inch vane or 4 inch vane also the firebolt or gold tip? :?: The best set up is the one that does what you want it to do. For me, I would try to find the shortest vane that stabilizes th...

Re: Arrow Question for Math Whizes

Cherokeeson, just copy and paste the link on your browser; it's just a short video that shows the feather and the lead ball experiment. I still have to figure out how to post an active URL. I have tried several times but it says that I can't use certain BBCodes, URL being one of them. Sorry :|

Re: Excalibur's new variable power bow

As the owner of many 3 in one tools, I find that they are good at doing many things but not so good at doing them well. Purpose built tools will always beat the multi tools hands down so I believe that it's a big risk for a company to put out a product that is marginal compared to the competition. T...

Re: Arrow Question for Math Whizes

All right, here is the nerdy answer :D Two major factors, weight and resistance , are affecting the trajectory of the arrow but, not for the reasons one might think. The reason why one arrow is hitting higher than the other is speed . If you chronographed your Firebolt you would see that it is trave...

Re: Will nail polish remover work for taking glue off shafts

If you use acetone, make sure that you wipe it off while it is still wet (it evaporates very quickly.) If you see white residue on the end of your shaft after you wipe it down it is an acetone/glue residue that will prevent your new glue form bonding properly. Make sure you have no white residue lef...

How long before your first archery deer?

I was just thinking that it took me four looong seasons of hunting with archery tackle before I learned enough from my mistakes to bag my first deer--a big doe. I started bow hunting in the late 80's and we didn't have all of the media available to us hunters that we do nowadays back then; I also di...

Re: new hunter questions

Anytime you are hunting deer in bow range (40 yds and under, some would even say 30 yds and under), you are trying to defeat the animal's acute sense of smell, hearing and eyesight. Their senses are much better tuned than human's are and therefore you try to equalize your chances at getting them tha...
