Ten Years?
Where does the time go? Ten summers ago I was fed up with the Horton crossbow I’d purchased (it was a Fury and if anyone owned one you know what I’m talking about), and I was looking for reliable alternatives. With some research on the forum, I was guided toward the Matrix 380. I loved that bow. It ...

Re: Custom “Excaliburky 415”
Scrolling through the posts today and I was like hey, I have one of those too! WS - sadly I didn’t manage to get in the field with any bow last season. My Aculeus 460 is first in line when I do hunt, and my Excalibur is pretty much just for backup. I shoot it every fall and it’s held zero every time...

Re: Bleeding fish
I bleed out every fish I catch. I find it creates a whiter flesh and there’s slightly less mess when cleaning them.

Re: Micro 380 issue's
I wouldn’t want to clutter up my FOV with illuminated numbers and if you’re shooting at an animal beyond 60y in poor enough conditions to merit illumination, you probably shouldn’t take that shot. I don’t use silencing add-ons to my bows. If you want to tame the twang, go to a Flemish string.

Re: New season goals what's yours?
My goals are different now than they used to be. I’m lucky to spend a few days afield each season now and if I can spend them with my family and friends that’s a bonus. I don’t care about how many deer I see or how many points a buck has, it’s all secondary to just getting out there which seems to h...

Yesterday it wouldn’t let me login. Today, I can login but whenever I go to post it logs me out.

Re: What's new for '22?
I haven’t been moved to buy an Excalibur since the 440 came out. I didn’t buy it and I’m glad I didn’t. The last Excalibur I bought was a 335 Micro that I turned into a MicroMax 360 with a full Realtree Xtra mainframe. So even that model wasn’t exactly what I was looking for. Don’t get me wrong, I d...

Re: The ultimate crossbow scope!
Did you give up on the Leupold 1.25-4x VXR Patrol? I thought you had one… This is my favourite scope for a crossbow but it’s definitely not crossbow specific. •small overall length, very lightweight •very clear sight picture, edge to edge definition is great •VXR illumination is tough to beat, has a...

Re: My hunting land is getting logged.
Same happened to us. It increased the bedding cover and the roads they had to clear for the skid steer actually made for some really nice, wide trails. Good luck!

Re: Last Hunt at the Zoo
Derrick, I am so sorry that you lost your best hunting spot. I havent posted before now because this hits so close to home. we started leasing the place that we hunted( pretty much everything in Texas is a lease) in 1986. Landowner told us up front that he had the sand and gravel rights leased to t...

Re: Last Hunt at the Zoo
Good Job Derrick. I know the loss of access to property feeling. During my hunt this week the landowners son visited me to tell me his Dad isn't doing well and they are not sure what they will do with the property if he passes. I have a feeling this will be my last hunting season in the honey hole!...
