Re: Hunting Backpacks
I love my eberlestock X2 pack but I think it falls in the daypack category. Once I butcher a good sized whitetail it's about outta space though. So it probably holds 60-75 lbs in a trip. Think that might be a little small for elk.

Axe broadheads anyone?
Anyone have any experience with axe broadheads? Specifically the bone crusher model. They look pretty good, just not sure if they stay shut for crossbows and if they are very durable.

Dead ringer trauma?
I'm going to give these heads a try this yr out of my 330 with a 420ish grain 2219 arrow. Not sure what the actual speed they're flinging at, no chrono. My question is do you foresee any problems getting a pass through on the 3 1/8" setting? I will definitely be going for behind the shoulder sh...

Re: Shot a doe this morning! GRAPHIC PICS!
Had to go get me a pack of these tonight after seeing this post! Have been looking at them for a while just hesitant to pull the trigger. They do not shoot the same as my field points but I have yet to find a BH that will(expandable or fixed). They seem to be hitting about 1" high and .5" ...

Re: economy option arrows/broadheads
Antony actually harvested a deer with those heads? Wondering how the holes/blood trails were? Look like those 2 little blades would help keep the channel open and bleeding well.

Re: economy option arrows/broadheads
I used to shoot with amazing success the carbon express Torrid expandables in my compound bow. Think I may go back to them in my 330 this yr with the price of any of the name brand broadheads going through the roof.

Rinehart all the way. I have the 18-1, the rhinoblock would be great though. Only penetrates about 6" with my 330. Gander mountain has some great deals on them.

Re: Tested 5 Mechanical Broadheads
I had wondered about the battle axe. Ended up going with the tried and true muzzy 4 blade again though. If you get any successful shots I would love to know what you think about them!

Re: Onestringer wraps?
I'm just worried about finding the arrow afterwards. Seem to be a bit tricky to find when shot from groundlevel blinds at game.

I just got the flo orange and flo pink to try out. Never used them before so I'm sure there will be a learning curve!

Re: Killed a Doe this morning!
No more drags for me! Got a eberlestock x2 pack last yr and now I just butcher where they lay and bring the head out for proof of sex. Much easier method for those long walk public spots. Not sure if that's legal where your at but it's alot more convienent.

Onestringer wraps?
Decided to try wraps this yr instead of lighted nocks due to the weight savings. My question is are they durable enough to use on my practice arrows too or should I just use them on my hunting and make sure they shoot same poi?

Re: 125 gr broadhead suggestions
I know what you mean by millions in BH's! Seems they're not getting any cheaper. Seems like I rarely recover a bolt after the shot. A tree stand is easy but we mostly hunt ground blinds. Rough to spend 40 bucks on 3 heads.

Re: 125 gr broadhead suggestions
I have only found you need the 150 heads if shooting carbon without brass inserts. All the aluminum has done fine with it, until I cut them down to 17".
Collars is a good idea. Where would one find these at? I don't think I've actually ever seen those.

125 gr broadhead suggestions
Got my new 330 on Friday and all sighted in with 20" 2219 and 100 grain tips. Same arrow my wife tac drives with her ibex. I just wasn't happy with the arrow sticking out so far. Went to the local shop and had some cut down to 17". Weighed in right at 420gr on the scales. Long story short ...
