My excalibur rope cocking aid is fraying about three inches down from the right handle . I have used it for about 125 shots . Is wear this fast common ? I have not mistreated it .

Re: What are the differnces??
Really makes no mind to me but sumpin jus ain't right wid the spec's they be showin It dose not make sense to me either . If the string on the cub is long enough to cause a 10lb draw weight difference the power strokes would not be the same . The cub would have a shorter brace height and longer pow...

Re: Dot sights
I really like my EOTech 512 Xbow too . Another plus is that batteries last a very long time . 600 hours for alkaline and 1000 for lithium .

Re: The only thing I hate about Excalibur
This brings up another question or two. If you put the air brakes on and then in the off season decide to take your string off to give the limbs a rest - do you have to then take the air brakes off ? If so, would this put you in a continuous cycle of replacing the bolts. If they are anything like t...

Re: New guy saying hi
Just like to say hi. My name is Michael (MCS) and I found this site through a good friend Anthony (amythntr) who basically helped me make up my mind to get an Excalibur crossbow. I have been looking at these bows for quite some time, and in talking with Anthony he kind of sealed it for me that this...

Re: New to crossbows and needing guidance
I was using the vari-zone as an example of how second focal plane scopes work . It is hard to explain without showing how the two scopes work side by side . Second focal plane scopes magnify the target and not the reticle .The reticle stays the same size as the target decreases or increases in size ...

Re: New to crossbows and needing guidance
No worries , I misunderstood . It seemed overly nice so I assumed it was meant sarcastically . To much time on other forums were people jump right to name calling etc . My apologies .

Re: New to crossbows and needing guidance
Yes, you have it!! Parallax can be defeated w/ same cheek weld every shot, but you won't notice much in your Weaver. Also, there's no guarantee what yardages will be 'on' w/ top duplex at 20 yds. You'll have to fiddle a bit. The trick to setting a V-zone is the closer you get to nirvana, the smalle...

That turned out very nice . I doubt the critters will notice any difference in the camo pattern

Re: New to crossbows and needing guidance
On the Vari-zone [and all other Excal adj offerings] you sight your xbow in at 20 yds. When you change the power setting, aka 'speed' ring, the distances change on the aim points other than 20 yds . [gimme a break here, Yeti] You can adj your scope several ways [Excal]. For your Weaver, just sight ...

Re: New to crossbows and needing guidance
Lol, No. Try it and see what happens........... Every adjustable magnification scope i have owned has done it . The wost was a Bushnell legend 3-9x32 that the poi at 50 yards would move 7 inches higher when on 9x and back on when at 3x . Best i had was an older Simmons 44mag 4-12x and it only moved...

Re: New to crossbows and needing guidance
increasing or decreasing magnification will move the poi . that is all the "speed ring" scopes are is an adjustable magnification scope . increase magnification to raise poi ,decrease to lower . Only first focal plane scopes poi are unaffected by magnification adjustments. an old weaver wi...
