Re: Old Exocet
Around 2001 was when excalibur switched to mag tip limbs and flat milled riser on the Exocet. I love my stock exocet 165. It is one of the last ones from 99 or 00.

Re: Been a long time since I have posted ...
Glad airguns aren't legal in Ohio (for deer), that would be another expensive method I'd have to try.  I'm with you on not being too excited about the newer models. I prefer the traditional stock design with where the safety is located on the Excalibur crossbows. Yeah the saftey placemen...

Re: Been a long time since I have posted ...
Hey welcome back, MI Yeti . I have just returned to the forum myself after being away for a couple years. Congrats on your Button. I have yet to even see a deer so far, let alone harvest one  . I've only been out a couple of times, though. But the season's not over yet 8) . I'm curious, what...

Been a long time, hope you guys are having successful deer seasons . I have not hunted with my crossbow in about 4 years now . I did do some target shooting with my Exocet 165 and it was still as accurate as ever . Got it ready for archery season but never did hunt with it . I got a Button buck on o...

Re: Arrow and Bow combinations of forum members
late 90s Excalibur exocet 165 . 20" Gold tip laser IIs, 4" vanes, brass inserts, aluminum nocks, 125gr muzzy three blade . I have been wanting to go to 100gr broad heads but the cost and the fact these shoot very well have kept me from doing it .

Re: a nice doe taken with my .50 airgun
Gotta ask -- what is the sound like and how loud? The sound is a bit hard to describe, like a non shrouded small bore pcp just louder and deeper . The sound dose not travel very far, some one 150-200 yards away would not hear it well enough to know what it was . It's loud enough that you should wea...

Re: Determinig draw weight on an exocet
Exocet 165 has carved tip limbs and straight cast riser . exocet 175 has milled straight riser and mag tip limbs . exocet 200 has milled forward riser and mag tip limbs . As long as I'm remembering right, for sure my exocet 165 is that way

Re: a nice doe taken with my .50 airgun
I wonder how they would do usin a .50 cal sabot n bullet From what I've heard it will foul the barrel with plastic quickly and not offer any advantage over a cast bullet or round ball . I've not tried it myself though . Cleaning it would be difficult as you can't use anything that would damage the ...

Re: a nice doe taken with my .50 airgun
impressive gun, groups, how heavy are the balls and what kind of velocity do you get ? How about charging it how is that done ? Sorry for all the questions but this is a kind of new area for me the large bore air guns. The round balls from my .500 Lee mold are 188gr . Velocity is in the low 700s pr...

Re: a nice doe taken with my .50 airgun
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!! What kind of accuracy do you get with the round ball? At 25 yards 3 shots go into a big hole or a nice cover leaf depending how I'm shooting that day . At 50 yards about 1.5" ctc but it is capable of better . It has a very heavy "lawyer" trigger , it woul...

a nice doe taken with my .50 airgun
Bagged a nice doe after a rough morning on the 16th with my sam yang dragon claw .50 pcp airgun( .35 and larger pcp airguns are legal for deer in MI ) . It was an extremely foggy day . Ended up having to pull over at a gas station and wait for the sun to come up before continuing . It was about 9- 9...

Re: Archery season was too warm here in MI
The weather has cooled off and its even snowing today . To bad I'm stuck at home . I can't afford to work on my truck until next month . It was in the low 40s on the morning of the 16th when I killed my doe and it was still in the mid 40s by the time I had her at the butcher . I sadly don't have any...

Archery season was too warm here in MI
The archery season was for the most part too warm here in Michigan this year . The one time I went it ended up in the 80s  . It has cooled off some but still a bit warmer than i'd like in the afternoon . Did take a nice doe with my .50 airgun yesterday morning after getting stuck at a gas stati...
