Re: Are either of there good for clueing inserts?
I have used the Loctite super glue you have pictured on the right, have never had an insert come loose. Scuff the insert up with sandpaper or roll it around between two files then clean the insert and the inside of the shaft good with acetone and it shouldn't ever come loose.

Re: Smoking Wild Boar? O/T
Paul, I only tried it once so I'm certainly no expert. But I tried smoking a butt from a big sow I shot 6 or 7 years ago. It tasted great but was not what you think of when you think of juicy tender pulled pork butt. Maybe I messed it up, I don't know, but the texture of the meat was more like a pic...

Re: Matrix 380 No bow string guide on rail
1/4" off the REDS is pretty much the optimum distance. If you go much less than that the string can beat the pads up pretty quick. You can go higher but you'll lose a little speed the farther you get from the pads because you're basically shortening the power stroke by a minute amount.

Re: Rendering XB Inoperable in the field?
Would a simple trigger lock like what comes with a firearm purchase work? If the trigger is locked out the bow can't be operated, right?
I agree with the others, that's going a bit overboard. Do they make you field strip and disassemble your gun?

Re: Hoisting a crossbow up to a treestand
I keep a pull rope attached to my ladder stands. I stand the bow on the stirrup and tie the rope to the buttstock end, taking enough slack out of the rope so that the bow will still be standing pretty much upright on the stirrup. Then when I get situated in the stand I pull the bow up. I lower it th...

Re: Brace height vs speed
I did some extensive testing a couple years ago and I didn't see much difference in speed in relation to brace height, maybe a couple FPS gain at most with the string resting right against the REDS. The downside is you'll eat up the pads pretty fast, and there has been some discussion about brace hi...

Either one will work. I used 5/16" but 1/4" will work fine.

I don't recall the brand names but I have a couple really old broadhead sharpeners that fit over your knuckles. Not fancy or high tech but they work well on the Stingers I shoot.TheBig1 wrote:Kegbelly, how do you sharpen your broadheads? I am shooting Ramcats.

Re: Final Prep: Sighting In W/Bolts & Broadheads?
Ok fellas, for some reason I just want to know EXACTLY what you do. So everything's ready and all I have to do is shoot all of my arrows and broadheads to make sure that I don't have any fliers. 1. How do you do it? Do you actually shoot EVERY arrow that you're taking with you in the quiver? Yep. I...

Great idea! I think it would work fine for aluminum, but I think the cutter blades might be a little coarse for carbons.

Re: luminoks
Squaring the shaft just means you are removing a very small amount material from the end of the shaft to make it perfectly straight or "square". There are tools that make it very simple. G5 makes one, and Lumenok makes their own squaring tool also, that's the one I use and it works great.
