I'm about 45 mins south of KC and I had the same thought this morning - should be sitting in a treestand!!

I've found public land to be rewarding during archery and sometimes downright scary during firearms season. Your $$$ helped fund it so why not use it?!

I have 2 public tracts close to the house that I archery hunt through the week after work and typically see nice deer in.

Shot them with the Vortex, stayed closed. Accuracy was good, not great! I concur on accuracy. Field experience .. I shot a doe with one last fall out of my dad's old Horton supermag .. Good solid hit, little blood, and I did not recover the animal. I couldn't find the arrow to confirm but I believe...
