Re: Birthday
Happy birthday. Here in central Alabama it only snows once a year. I don't see how you guys handle hunting in the snow for multiple days. I guess I would get used to it though.

Advice on used ATV price
A friend of mine is looking at buying a used Yamaha Grizzlie 350 4 x 4 automatic 2007. It is in good condition but has 2400 hrs. on it. It runs good and starts easy like most yamahas. The new MSRP in 2007 was $5099. He is asking 3000. How much lower would you guys offer him since it has high hours. ...

Re: rookie season
I was just looking at the deer pics and realized it was a 12 and not 17. Darn, I think it's time to see the eye doc. I hope you continue to enjoy hunting with your daughter for many more years.

That's great man. Not many 17 yr olds are interested in spending time outdoors with their fathers. You are a blessed father.

Re: most popular moultrie camera
I bought a 555 this year as well and I have the same problem with the wide-angle pictures. When I try to view the pictures on the small viewer on camera I am squinting my eyes and it is frustrating. I have to maximize the pics to full screen on the laptop to see detail of deer. So I wouldn't recomme...

Re: 2nd rut
About 10 years ago my brother killed a couple of big bucks between 10 am and 1 pm during the rut in south Alabama. I thought he was just lucky but I tried it on a different property and was surprised at the buck activity I saw. It wasn't on every trip and they weren't always big but it was more buck...

If you are trying to stay in that price range and you ordered the package deal the arrows that Excalibur sends with the crossbow should be accurate enough. Then if you want to spend more money you can upgrade later. The boltcutter broadheads have worked well for me.

You will not regret it. I bought an Excalibar for this season and my seven-year-old son killed his first deer a seven-point last Tuesday. We will never forget thanksgiving 2013.

Also I have had mine for around 10 years and have never had a problem with my boots going through the rungs of platform and I wear size 11.

Re: climbing treestands
I like my summit viper as well. With the rubber coated cable it does not make much noise setting up. I always bring mine in and out of the woods so there is no frost on the cushion seat and to keep from leaving scent at ground level. I lengthen the straps on my seat so that it hangs down under the r...

Congrats. We have a long season in Alabama as well. It's nice to pace yourself or go fishing knowing that you have plenty of hunting days left.

Re: Feeder Visits
Fine deer. Looks like that first pic is close to shooting hours. Looking at the top of the picture it seems that way me. That is good for your chances. Good luck with him.
