Re: Assassin safety button/lever question
Haven't had an issue yet with it being hard to push forward. It seems to travel in a small arc when you move the lever forward. You're right about the audible click if you push it off with just your thumb. If you sort of pinch it between your thumb and forefinger you can move it almost silently. I'l...

Re: .....detailed initial review of L'Assassino
It's all good. We still have our limited lifetime warranty on all the major components such as limbs, stock, factory scope, trigger system etc. There is a 5 year warranty included on the Charger crank ROPE. The up charge gives you an additional 5 years on the rope and the priority service. But we ar...

Re: Deer in Maryland
In Cecil county I was seeing quite a few in early October when it was a bit cooler. Since we've had these above normal temps the movement has slowed down but I still see a few. The lack of acorns this year is a help for me.

Re: Armchair comandos dislike excalibur
The anonymity of the internet brings out the inner idiot in some. I know I made the best choice for me with my Excal. Reliable, simple to work on, and a tack driver. What more could you need?

OT - back yard New Years eve party
So, it seems people are not the only ones partying on Dec 31st. There was even a little kung fu fighting at the buffet. https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc3/1500926_199213463618308_1175261335_o.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/1602088_199213603618294_83364...

Re: Deer season in your state?
I live in management region B in Maryland. Archery season this year started Sept. 6th and runs to Jan. 31st. In region B you can take 2 antlered deer, however you have to purchase an additional stamp and you must take 2 antlerless deer before you take your second buck. There is a limit of 10 antlerl...

Re: Crossbow info
Tyler, if you live in the states you may want to check out Big Supply Shop on the web. They have a good selection of Excal packages and bare bows if you want that. The prices are great the only problem can be it takes them a while to get stuff back in stock once it sells out.

Question on venison prep
Since this is my first year cooking venison, I thought I would get some expert opinions. I've read that some folks soak the meat in saltwater prior to cooking to draw off excess blood and supposedly cut down the "gamey" taste. I am thinking this is not necessary in my case since I gutted t...
