Re: Tac zone opinions

Mine works quite well for me out 60 yards. I haven't tried it any further than that. I have no hesitation taking it hunting for typical crossbow distances. Considering my personal schedule and the hunting seasons in this state, days in the field are precious. The cost of equipment is relatively low ...

Re: Meat grinder

Connective tissue is a common problem for all but the most industrial of grinders. We've used a hand grinder and Kitchenaid attachment quite successfully by cutting the meat into cubes and par-freezing it before grinding. It takes an extra step but a 10# batch is not too bad and it saves us space on...

Re: Matrix 355 Bolts

I stick with the 18" to avoid having the end out over the stirrup. I haven't tried/measured 20" but I would suspect it might overhang with a broadhead.

Re: Matrix 380/355 Center Serving

Keep it waxed for maximum lifespan. Boo's youtube video on serving recommends Dalton's and although I've only used it for a short time, I would tend to agree that it is the easiest to use and penetrates better than the others I've tried. Considering the consistency, I don't believe any rail lube is ...

Re: Ata advertising video

The video is certainly interesting. I suspect that most folks who own a compound would have had a reason to go to the shop before their bows actually had a catastrophic failure as shown in the video. The thing would start losing accuracy or something would just seem "not right". That's why...

Re: Vibration/Shock Control

I put a flemish string, Danny's bumpers, cat whiskers, and rubber tape on my stirrup. I guess it technically "quieted" it down but more noticeable was the high pitch metallic tone is now gone. It went from a "ting" kind of sound to more of a "thump". It's worth doing bu...

Re: String builders thread

Maybe that's the real lesson of this thread? Don't give Boo any crap about how long it takes to build a string or the cost. :D Most people can make a decent, usable string but the best takes time and experience that few of us will ever be able to develop. I happen to love the process and do-it-yours...

Re: Super matrix 355 deal

on michigunowners website there is a category called found a deal.guys post 30% off Dunhams coupons on there and all you have to do is copy it.I get 20% ones all the time in my e-mail but the 30% isn't very common. FYI, Michigangunowner MGO page #11 post #102 gives a link to a 30% off "in-stor...

Re: String builders thread

Ah ha!! I knew there was some secret sauce in the Boo string tackle box. And I certainly would not expect you to give those up. However, it does reinforce the value of a professionally made string. Years and years of trial and error evolves the design and approach to trade performance, sound, and ot...

Re: String builders thread

Another lesson learned was something I got from your youtube video, Boo, is the marking of the string center on the crossbow itself. I noticed that marking it on the stretcher does not come out as symmetric as if I do it on the bow. This is not a huge deal but if folks want a more professional looki...
