Re: Question on venison prep
In our experience, gamey flavor in venison comes from a few causes. Most common is not getting all the fat cut off of it at the time it is processed into cuts. That seems to carry most of the strong flavors people don't like. Poor care for the meat in the field (gut shot, dirty, getting tarsal gland...

Re: Excalibur Equinox Stock Length ???
Wyoming Crossbows legal during archery seasons; Must have 90-pound minimum draw weight, minimum draw length of 14-inches and shoot a minimum 16-inch bolt. Guess Wyoming is not able to use the Matrix series bows. does not meet minimum draw length. :? Or is draw length different than power stroke? If...

Re: Rangefinder Dilema
I have the Leica rangefinder but it's overkill for bow range. It's really most helpful for longer ranges and conditions where getting a reading with less sensitive range finders. It's also lighter than comparable units which was appreciated when I was in the Frank Church and carrying everything on m...

Re: fletching jigs and set up??? help.
If you have the Bitz or similar jig for vertical bows, how do people adapt them for the flat style knocks on crossbows? Is there some sort of standard to crossbow knock converter used during the fletching time and removed afterward?

Black Eagle arrows for 355
Hey folks. I've been researching arrow and broadhead options for the Matrix 355. From indirect comments I've found online, it sounds like the Diablos have a relatively light insert (32gr?) whereas arrows like the Black Eagles have a 92gr or 110gr insert. Does that mean you can shoot a 100gr or 125gr...

Re: anti-dry fire on Matrix 355
Thanks Hester. I'm definitely leaning that way. It just seems like a prudent addition.

anti-dry fire on Matrix 355
Hey folks. Looks like Santa may be bringing me a Matrix 355 for Christmas and I'm wondering if the ADF is even needed on the 355. I see videos where people dry fire older versions of Excalibur bows but I wonder if the new models may have enough energy into smaller limbs resulting in the need to be p...
