Re: I wanna move to Texas
Unfortunately, deer won't be in season. You may catch spring turkey. Lots of hogs and exotics in places. problem is that landowners want to get their yearly monies from hunters. Prices are getting out of sight, and even though they complain about hog damage, they want to charge big time prices to le...

I also recommend a rifle for your needs, but if you want a crossbow, I have an Ibex maybe we can make a deal on.

Re: A problem with E Texas
I bet that there have been lots of illegal kills by mistake since these changes were introduced.
Agree, and the bad thing is that a lot of people will let the deer lie there and rot rather than facing a possible ticket for shooting an "illegal" animal. The whole thing creates problems.

Re: A problem with E Texas
Lots of us dislike the AR's. I have a six point that likely goes 12.5" that is coming in pretty regular. There is also a funky four point that is basically 8" spikes with a small prong on the end of each. He certainly needs to be deleted from the gene pool. They claim that the restrictions...

Re: Antelope ( pronghorn ) hunt
I have shot them with a rifle and pistol; guess it's time to try a real hunt. Sounds like you had to do a bit of work to get him. Great trophy!

Re: Zombie Slayers are damaged
Even when you remove the first arrow and shoot at that spot you stand a good chance of burying the arrow in the target and loosing fletching because you still hit the same hole True words, those. Been there and done that. Thought I was being smart removing the arrow, and ended up having to dig the ...

Re: Just Judging Interest...."TEXFEST" ?
I wish I was rich enough to go to Boofest, so something in this area would be great. I would really like to meet some fellow crossbow addicts, and learn some new tricks and methods.

Re: Remember when
Remember Herter's catalogs? I used to spend hours in it reading about their "worlds best" everything. Ordered quite a few cedar arrows from them. Never got a bow from them though. My eyes were always on the Bear Grizzly recurve.

Re: Boofest 2014
How about buying some land in Texas and having a Boofest south? It is just a bit far for some of us to get up there, although I would sure enjoy the chance to meet some of you folks and see some of that country. Sounds like a great time and I sure wouldn't change something that isn't broke.

Re: Vixenmaster/Smokepole Hall Seriously Injured
It is scary to think how many of us wander around in the woods never thinking about something like a tree limb coming down. Really makes one stop and think about how fragile life is. Hope you have a fast and complete recovery. Already miss seeing your posts.

Which tool are you going to? Are you retiring the tower? Sounds like you are pretty set on going back "old school".

Re: Decent binoculars
I am using Theron 8x32 binocular sold by Predator optics. He is pretty much a one man shop, so might work with you on shipping to Canada. Might be worth a call or email to see. The binocs were $155 last time I looked. Smaller and lighter than full size - I like them.
