I shoot through the screen material. I am using fixed blade Boltcutters. Never had a problem Hole ends up being very small.

Go and try some of them . I am 67 and 5' 5" I went and c o c k e d the 330 the 355 and the 380 and did not notice any difference , so I bought the 380 and have been happy with it.

I have always shot through the mesh , have not had a problem yet.
