Heated Vests

I am seeing that battery powered heated vests are getting more popular and was thinking about trying one next year for those real cold days. Curious who has been using them and if you can share your thoughts on what brands work best along with pro's and con's ??

Re: Trail Cameras and Bears

I lost 7 out of 16 trail cameras this year to bears. It got pretty expensive. Can't believe how many bears we see while hunting. Big bears 400 and 500 pounds. The DEEP in our state is begging for a bear season but our very liberal legislature won't pass a bear season. Someone is going to get mauled ...

Trail Cameras and Bears

I have had a terrible time this year with black bears destroying my trail cameras. They can't resist ripping them from the tree and busting them up. Anyone know why they do this and are there any tips or tricks for preventing this from happening? Do the metal boxes help?

Re: O/T CT.HNTR

Hi everyone. Thanks so much for the birthday wishes. I am now 64 which brings mixed emotions. One year closer to retirement which is awesome but I find as I get older it's getting harder every year to hunt as hard as a like. Spent a week this year in Pennsylvania hunting dawn to dusk. Got a nice buc...

Re: Memorial Day

My uncle landed on Omaha beach on D-day. Three weeks later he was shot in the stomach by a sniper from a church steeple in France. He was never the same after that. He passed away 10 years ago. I honor him every memorial day!

Re: Arrow length for hunting - state regs

There is always a drop in speed as you go heavier but speed is not everything. You have more momentum with the heavier arrows which translates into better penetration. I shoot 440 grain bolts and never have to worry about getting a pass thru. Even on quartering shots.

Re: Arrow length for hunting - state regs

Nitro,

I am also a CT hunter. I just use 18 inch bolts and call it a day. I like the extra weight. I actually got stopped last year by a DEEP officer and he pulled out a measuring tape and measured my bolts. I cut them to 18.125 to have a cushion.
