Re: Selecting a bow

As some of you know in my previous post I had called Danny Miller about the new Micro 335. Well I called him again today to seek more advice & buy the bow. We discussed my age (will be 69 in June) & the struggle I had trying to cock my son's 405. Also mentioned I want to shoot the bow a lot...

Re: Matrix 380 questions.

Hello, im saving up for the matrix 380 blackout and I have a few questions. Draw- how difficult is it to draw with the rope loader it comes with? Durability- how long will the bow last without replacing parts? im going to use this bow to hunt, and shoot targets. will this shoot through the target? ...

Re: scope help

I have this scope on my 380. It has very clear and bright optics and has been very accurate. I doubt you will find a better scope anywhere near the price.

Re: New scope ?

I got a Redfield Revenge for my 380 after getting frustrated with the Tact-Zone. For $80, it was not much of a gamble. I am very impressed with the Redfield. The optics are very bright even in low light. The eye relief is not quite as large as I would prefer, but is still much better than the Tact-Z...

Re: 380 bolts...18" vs 20"

The only arrows I ever shoot are 20" Easton 2219 alu. They seem to work just fine with no issues.

Re: Targets

I have a Bulldog Double Dog target. I really like the size of this target as I can mount two 5 spot bulls eye targets on it side by side. This allows me to shoot at a total of 10 bulls eyes without ever aiming at the same spot, which is great for saving arrows (I never have to worry about a Robin Ho...

Re: Matrix or Micro and aluminum arrows?

I shoot alu. 20" 2219s with my 380. So far just shooting targets with field points. At 20 yards, the arrows fly very well and are extremely consistent. I've never had any problems.

Re: Matrix 380 questions!

I did shorten my cocking rope and this helped a bit, but it was still a bit of a pain. Regardless, I am totally hooked on crank (sorry, couldn't resist the joke). Seriously though, it takes a minute or 2 longer to cock using the crank, but it is so easy that it has become second nature. This may not...

Re: Matrix 380 questions!

I'm 5' 7" and I do find cocking the 380 a bit difficult in that last inch or two. While I can consistently cock the bow, it is a sufficient strain that after 3 or 4 times, it gets difficult to hold the bow steady for target shooting. My solution was to buy the crank. With the crank, cocking is ...

Re: Small changes = big difference in shot placement

A 1-2ft downhill slope should not affect POI as drastically as you found. I'd check brace height...my guess is your string has stretched from all your practicing. Thanks for the suggestion. However, I check and adjust my brace height all the time. When shooting yesterday, the string was at least 1/...

Small changes = big difference in shot placement

I'm new to crossbows, having owned my M380 for only a few months. I have been practicing target shooting in my side yard. I use a Bulldog Double Dog with two standard bulls eye targets (the type with 5 total bulls eyes) tacked on side by side. This set up is very convenient as I can shoot 10 arrows,...

Re: My new Matrix 380

My 380 trigger had lots of travel, was rough and had unpredictable length of travel before firing. I switched to a Trigger Tech 2 stage trigger. The difference is night and day. It would have been nice to have the Trigger Tech trigger (or something equivalent) as stock. However, if you can get past ...

Matrix string question

When adjusting the brace height on my 380, I have noticed that the loops at the ends of the string have a bend that matches the channels in the limb tips. I assume this develops due to the tension of the string on the limb tips. Is there any benefit or downside to reversing the loops on occasion so ...

Re: Matrix Brace Height

Assuming your bow is relatively new, the string will likely stretch for a while yet. Thus, setting brace height 1/2" off the bumpers is a good plan as it will slowly creep back towards the bumpers, but will not need to be reset for a while. Think about resetting it again when it is less than 1/...

Re: Tact Zone scope or other?

I found both the eye relief and the focus lacking on my Tac Zone. I got a great deal on the Redfield Revenge. It has much better focus and somewhat better eye relief. It is also is brighter. But it is not illuminated. On the other hand, I found the illumination on the Tac Zone of very limited value....
