Re: 0.001 vs 0.003 arrows
The average human hair is .006. I always get a chuckle out of folks that have huge accuracy claims when buying the "straighter" arrows!

Re: 18" or 20" BEA Zombies for Matrix
Learned that lesson the hard way. Species there has to be a good story here. Can you share? Yeah it was new year's eve maybe 4 years ago. New year's eve is the last day of the season where I hunt and I have a tradition of saving one tag for that day. Well on this particular hunt I was in this eleva...

Re: O T shotgun guys
Short chambers and fixed chokes is likely a 1970's gun. Some guys love these guns and have great luck with them but I'm not one of them. I had one about 20 years ago and I had nothing but trouble with it. It went back for warranty work three times in the first year I had it. Ended working out a dea...

Re: What would happen to the limbs if the string suddenly br
Endless loop or Flemish doesn't matter, once you cut a number of strands the string is destined for failure. I have broken a few strings over the years (experimenting with skinny strings and different materials) on my stick bows, one at full draw ,two at the point of release. No damage to the bow in...

Re: O/T Savage 10ML PRICING OUTRAGEOUS
I agree with all the accolades the savage comes with minus the price. That being said, I have had similar results with a T/C Encore shooting Blackhorn 209 and Hornady XTP's. velocity is right around the 2100 mark with no fouling what so ever. I have shot 25+ shots at the range during a mornings wort...

Best dog in the world right there. I have had labs for the last 20+ years and I am fully convinced that they are reincarnated kids looking to have the most fun while pleasing their owners....

Re: Making flemish string
Building your own strings is right up there with making your own arrows, knife building etc. It just adds to the total enjoyment of bow hunting.

Re: OT-What NJ is Known For
Don't believe everything you read. Most if not ALL officers that patrol the NJ highways allow you about 13 mph OVER the posted speed limit( this is on the big roads). Its the knuckleheads that weave in and out of traffic or like to stay in the left lane that get the booby prize.....

Re: Dremelen arrow saw jig
I picked up a apple arrow saw at a garage sale years ago for 40 bucks. Since then I think I have went through two wheels( used to do a lot of stump shooting!)

Re: Hunting Fatality hits home
Sorry for the family's loss. I will never understand why some folks will spend huge amounts on guns, bows, camo, arrows etc. but when it comes to fall protection they cheap out. When it comes to safety equipment, always buy the best. Your family wouldn't have it any other way.

Re: matrix 330
I just got a 330 a few weeks ago and shooting 20" arrows has little to no adverse effect on the speed. I did pick up a dozen GT lazer II's and cut them to 18". I find they shoot almost identical to the 20" firebolts I already had. The weight difference was 395 to 409 and both shot in ...

Re: Matrix Flemish String
My findings have been the same as vixenmaster's. Over the last 10 or more years I have built and tested all types of strings on my stick bows and most recently crossbows. Flemish twist is usually a tad slower then endless loop but the differences are miniscule.

Re: BH's Good n Bad
I agree that shot placement is paramount to a quick kill and recovery. That being said, you can't cut steak with a butter knife. There are way too many heads on the market that leave a lot to be desired when it comes to being "hunting sharp". There are even a larger number of folks that ar...

New Matrix 330
I just took ownership of a new M330 and all I can say is wow. Topped it off with a Nikon bolt and set it up using GT lazer II bolts cut to 18". The bolts weigh in at 390-392 and chrono at 331fps. This rig named "sweetpea" is a tack driver, effortless cocking, floats like a butterfly a...

Re: Nap Crossbow Spitfire Broadhead
The only big draw back with mechanicals is the risk of damage when they get driven into the ground. The designs with a long main shaft tend to bend easier then the short stubby design. The replacement blades can be a little rough from the factory too. If you have a dramel tool you could buff up the ...
