New favorite bow
Over the years I have owned 15 different crossbows; ten of them Excaliburs, three long limbers, three Matrix models and four Micros. I just picked up an Excal GRZ2 and wanted to compare it to my MagAir and Mag340. I was surprised when I realized that I actually preferred the Matrix sized GRZ2 to my ...

Re: Mag Air stringing
Well it worked great. I put a narrow nylon cinch strap around my riser with a loop tied in it and ran the stringer through a steel loop on our truck lift; hooked the strap loop to the chain hoist and easily pulled the bowlimbs down to put on a new string. Next time I might try a "home version. ...

I am going to try out Wheelsquad's suggestion with the chain hoist at work in the garage.

Re: Mag Air stringing
I have done that numerous times and still it is a no-go. I might try to tie a cord closer to the limb ends to get a longer pull on them

Mag Air stringing
I accidentally broke my factory string on my Mag Air so I ordered a couple of new ones. But I just cannot get either of my new strings over the limb tips using my Excalibur or Danny Miller stringers. This was never a problem with all my previous Excals that had longer draw lengths. Any helpful tips ...

Mag Air field report
When I bought my Mag Air the snow was knee deep around here and I busy working so I finally got out today to shoot it. With a Sig Sauer Romeo 5 mounted I was hitting bullseyes in no time at 25 yards. Next time I will be stretching it out to 40. What a pleasure it is to hold a crossbow that doesn't f...

Re: Sig Sauer Romeo 5
I just got one for my Mag Air. It is the nicest red dot sight I have put on a crossbow. A sharp 2 moa dot and a good sturdy build.

Re: 150 and 175 Tooth of the Arrow comparison
I already have a set of 100 grain regular vented heads and just ordered two sets of 150 grain XL solids and got a free sharpener. Can't wait to try them out.

Re: Mag Air is marvelous
I tried cheaper red dots and wasn't pleased with them. Fuzzy dots and fragile construction.
The Sig Sauer Romeo 5 is well made and the 2 moa dot is crisp. 3 moa dots seemed too big.
Plus it wasn't too expensive. And weighs a quarter of what my
Nikon Bolt scope.

Mag Air is marvelous
I answered the siren call of the Mag Air and it is a marvel. Absolutely the lightest hunting crossbow I have ever owned. Makes my Mag 340 and Matrix 330 feel like anchors. My tendonitis plagued arms are most grateful. Got a great deal from WC here in the states including extra arrows. The new Rhino ...

Stringer rope
Today before shooting I went to adjust my brace height when bam my Excal. stringer cord snapped. Not the cocking rope but the stringer cord. No damage done. But I am asking what would be good replacement cordage.

Time to shoot
Finally went out shooting today. Last arrow I shot was through a deer last November. It felt good to stretch the limbs once again. Now I hope to be shooting almost weekly till deer season. It is so relaxing and fun.

Re: FOR THOSE WHO EXCAL CB HUNT IN T.P.R. OF NEW YORK
When I hunt my own 50 acres I use my Axe. On state land (right next door) I use a Matrix 310 with a forward swept riser. Of course both bows are devoid of shiny stickers. Join the NYCC and soon we can get the laws changed so that the DEC decides the hunting regulations and not dumbass bureaucrats in...
