Rinehart Targets VS Matrix 405
Took the new 405 out to sight it in using a Rinehart 18-1 target. Let me tell you, this was a learning experience. The Rinehart target never gave me any issue, in fact it was the best target I've used with my Vortex. However, shooting it with a 405 with 150 grain field tips at 20 yards, while the ta...

Re: Crossbow Recommendation for a Newb
I used to have a Vortex and it was a great bow but I don't think you can go wrong with any of the Excalibur products out there. Take a look at their "Arrow Performance" section under support. This will give a good idea about trajectory vs speed.

Re: Dental band on NAP Spitfire Broadhead ?
I just got a 405 and want to shoot NAP FOCs out of it. Was thinking the same thing about the dental bands but I haven't tried them out yet. I'll let you know if I have issues and think they need them.

Re: Rusty Slick Trick Ferrules - Updated
Just received an update from Slick Trick. They advised that this was most likely an brief issue with their tumbling process which they had addressed with production. They're in the process up sending new ferrules. Great customer service as always. I'll keep buying them (not that need to replace them...

Re: Matrix 405 Mechanical Broadhead FAIL
Thanks for the advice, I'm gonna give the F.O.C.s a try. Anybody out there putting bands around them to ensure they don't deploy early.Species8472 wrote:Using NAP FOCs = 3 bolts with 3 deer down with full deployment.
I do use heavy bolts (490 grain total) to slow bolt speed out of the 405 to +/- 355 fps

Re: Rusty Slick Trick Ferrules
Got them from Amazon. I've been buying Slick Tricks as well and this is the first time I've seen anything like this. Hopefully it's a one time deal.

Rusty Slick Trick Ferrules - Updated
Just a heads up, I ordered some new 150 grain X-Box tricks from Amazon and when they arrived the ferrules had some finishing issues and rust. It's only getting worse as they're being exposed to the fall elements. So far Amazon would do an exchange, but haven't heard any response from Slick Trick. On...

Matrix 405 Mechanical Broadhead FAIL
Call me a pessimist but I want to hear from Matrix 405 owners (or anyone with experience, just let me know what your shooting) who have had their mechanical broadheads deploy early and what your using now. I'm tempted by the accuracy of the mechs but I don't trust them on high speed bows
