Re: Ibex bolts and knocks
So, maybe I just had an inconsistent Easton Bloodline bolt, I'm still not convinced there's not some anomaly with this one bolt, but changed field points and all and got it grouping, but all said and done, I've had my faith restored in the Firebolts - sighted in and pulling the closest groups I ever...

Re: Ibex bolts and knocks
So, guys I'm back on this topic looking for advice on bolts. As post script to my earlier question, half moons have worked beautifully in my ibex with the excell and Flemish strings. I'm now looking at the flight of my bolts, my Firebolts / Easton bloodlines have a notable dip in trajectory at the e...

Re: Hide conditioning advice
The tanning has gone really well, the skin and fur has come up beautifully and is in the drying stage. On the basis of what I've read, that any animal or vegetable based oils are okay for 'oiling', I'm going to use dubbin and work it in to the fleshed side of the hide & work it in thoroughly. I'...

Hide conditioning advice
Hi all, So I went on my first hunt last weekend and took a young kangaroo, my first take with my ibex, which I was really happy with - excellent prone shot from about 25m, clean pass through. I hung, skinned & portioned it up and salted the skin immediately. After 5 days stretched and ...

Re: Go Pro
So I got the GoPro sorted and set up properly on my second round of practice shots with it, shooting 120 frames per second, this is what I got in terms of slo-mo footage... a bit of fun anyway.

Re: Proven bipod options
I quite liked the look of the BIPOD sticks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNLzYIA3l4k but really could be too complex for the crossbow - i think some lightweight flip out sticks like a bipod would be all that is necessary - i am just looking for a bit more stability from 40+ Im sure there are plent...

Proven bipod options
gidday again guys, Just wondering if those of you that have fitted and shot from a bipod have suggestions for tried and tested bipods for the Excal ? One has caught my eye, the Harris HBH which extends to about 25" as I'm looking to have an option from kneeling, particularly shooting from 40+ y...

Re: Go Pro
Well guys, I got it all set up, $1.60 for some Allen head pan head m6 x 25mm and nylocks and it's neat as ever :) I mounted it up forward on the scope after looking at a couple of YouTube vids, angle and range of view is really good... Go pro played up so I had to re flash its operating software Bef...

Re: Go Pro
Thanks man, I will post a pic tonight, I am using the stock varizone scope, and it's close and a really tight fit on either side of the string release claw housing and scope mount (sort of splays the finger screws apart), I'll have a play tonight, I'm sure I'll get it to work one way or another.... ...

Re: Go Pro
Is anyone using the go pro bike / bar mount ? I just unpacked and test fitted mine today on my Ibex and there are some clearance issues with the finger screws (the heads of them anyway) also tried to invert them but then one side fouls the go pro base mount. Also wondering if anyone has experiences ...

Re: Ibex bolts and knocks
Thanks cb175 I'll check them out next trip to the North Island, I just blew one of my Easton bloodlines into 4 pieces with an errant shot zeroing the scope... It might be handy to have a few spares !
Cheers.

Re: Ibex bolts and knocks
I guess the question is do I stay with alloy flat backs or are flat plastic knocks on high velocity carbon bolts okay ?

Ibex bolts and knocks
Gidday all, I've just unpacked and put together my new ibex and I've got to say, I'm really impressed - the whole package, info DVD, the bow itself and all the components are impressive, top notch items ! I am very happy with my choice, I think mr. Troubridge and the Excalibur team should be very pr...
