Short arrows
Just throwing out info, maybe it could help someone. Was interested in short arrows ( 15") for Matrix 330. Shorter in the quiver for ground hunting, and just wanted to see how it would affect performance. Keeping in mind minimum weight of 350gr. removed inserts and cut 1". Approximate weig...

Re: Bolt question
Zombie Slayer 9.1gpi with 92gr insert and luminok seems to be adding up close to that. If f.o.c. can go upper teens to low twenties that might be a winner.

Re: Bolt question
So, Easton FMJ and Goldtip Laser IV both over 13gpi with a 125gr head should get a 15" bolt around 400gr. What are opinions on f.o.c. for crossbow bolts with fixed blade broadheads.

Bolt question
Just curious, does anyone shoot aluminum bolts anymore? Been thinking about a 15 in. bolt for a Matrix 330. Was thinking that should bring arrow weight up a bit. Would like to be close to 400gr with 125gr head. And what is a good FOC for hunting arrow? Stayed 10-12 percent with compound bow ,but sou...

Re: Deflection question
Many years ago I only used Zwickey and Magnus, very durable and lethal, not as accurate at high speed. Any thoughts on Montec in a crossbow? Also, planning a heavier arrow, maybe Glod Tip IV. Thoughts ?

Deflection question
Trying to solve a problem, hoping for some fresh insight. Shot my first crossbow deer yesterday,37 yards broadside or tiny angle away. Impact point exactly where expected. Exit however was significantly higher. Not what I expected from an elevated stand. Broadhead blades bent and damaged. Clipped ba...

First xbow deer
Mission accomplished. Christened my new Matrix 330 with a great shot on a 7 point buck. Came through about 4:30 like he was on a mission. Slowed just at enough at 37 yards to look at the the squirrel he spooked. Gave me just enough time to change his plans.

Re: Diablo bolts
Thanks for the input, helpful as always. If I had used my head I might have thought about a scale.Like the one in my reloading station ,forgot it's not just for ammo loading.

Diablo bolts
This question may have been answered and I just haven't found it, but here goes. Has anyone cut down a Diablo bolt? If so, anyone know the grains per inch? I would like to shorten them a few inches, but still want to maintain a safe arrow weight.

Re: newbie
Matrix 330. First step into crossbow land. It seemed to be a good solid step without going neck deep all at once. So far I really like it, much better than a couple of compounds I shot.Good balance, good trigger, very shooter friendly.
