Re: Fixed vs Mechanical Broadheads

I had good luck with the Cabelas Lazer Strikes this year. Mechanical that I believe is made by NAP. Inexpensive. I can buy six for what three of the other brands cost.

Re: Help with Coyotes

Coyotes seldom stay in their den unless during bad weather or have a litter. They will lay up on knolls, old fence rows, brush piles, round bales, etc. You have to park out of site and sneak in using the wind. Woodpecker distress or combination jack rabbit/woodpecker works best for me in the midwest...

Re: Long Haul Ravine Buck

I find, when I kill a really good buck, the drag out doesn't seem too bad. I guess because of the excitement and knowing it is a worthwhile buck. They all kick my butt though. :-) Killed a big one this year and had to drag him about 500 yards, through two creeks with 6' banks. I dragged 30 yards, st...

Re: Thermocell or not

The swampy areas I hunt... I would be run off in 10 minutes without one this season. Have killed a doe and a 150 class buck from the ground while running thermocells this season.
If a deer is down wind to smell the thermocell, he is gonna smell you.

Re: Binoculars

I have two pair of Leuopold binos, an 8x42 and a 10x42. Each between 200-300 bucks a pair. Sorely disappointed in both. Clarity isn't there for me. Maybe they just don't match up to my eye sight. They sit in the storage room. I use a FREE pair of cheapo Bushnells i got free with the purchase of a ra...
