Re: Crossbow vs.Compound Bow.
Personally and no disrespect meant to either option. I'd prefer to shoot a compound hands down, easier holding steady and shooting imo. BUT bad rotator cup, torn bicep tendon, 3 open heart surgeries made it difficult to draw over 49# 4 years ago (though it still shot almost through a black bear quar...

Re: Ten Point Crossbow ?
Thanks you guys for the information. I enjoy shooting my Excalibur and they have been excellent with the warranty service. Had an issue with the scope and it was replaced without any hassle. My bow is currently being shipped back from Woody's Archery shop in Pa. due to an issue with the scope mount...

Re: Ten Point Crossbow ?
TenPoint is a well built crossbow. Everyone is different and what may fit one may not fit another. At the shop the 2 least warrenty issue crossbows is the TenPoint and Excalibur. Rule of thumb on any of the crossbows that go out is to change string (and cables) every year. Maybe longer if not shot m...

Re: Advice on Selling Exomax
I'm sure you know it but if selling on ebay (at least in the US) expect lots of people contacting you and trying to weasel you down in price or even trade stuff for it.

Re: What do you use to secure your trail cams?
Here's just a couple ideas from diy and OutdoorTalk (homemade trail cams we do). http://www.diytrailcams.com/post/anyone-try-this-cam-mounting-system-7627211?pid=1288988899 This will probably explain it better: http://www.outdoor-talk.com/forum/index.php/topic,9265.0.html Oh from allpadlocks.com ( h...

Re: What do you use to secure your trail cams?
Ditto on the Python locks. They come in several sizes (3/16", 5/16" and 3/8" are a few) with 6' pf cable with covering over the cable. I got mine through the company here in Philadelphia, PA (Allpadlocks think it is). The 3/16" ones they don't key alike but the others you can get...

Re: HOW BIG DOES AN ARCHERY BEAR NEED TO BE
Bowhunting Big Game Records of North American (Pope & Young Club) lists it as what I thought min. was, 18" (black bear) but this is the 3rd Edition so rather old. No idea if crossbow is different but my thinking would be it isn't. Sorry reread and don't know what F.R.O.W. is so I'm probably...

Re: Need help picking a trail cam
Also try www.slaycam.com . They are mainly commercial units and have most all of them listed (manufacturers). I only use homebrews (www.diytrailcams.com they also hasve a commercial cam section to compare manufacturers and models) so can't help on a commercial brand other then saying my Dad's only o...

Re: Thinking about a crossbow have a few questions
Don't know if this is a no brainer or not but they use a flat nock on the bolts for Excalibers. Shop I help at alot of people think a bolt is a bolt and any will work on any crossbow. Wrong nock and you could blow up your crossbow. Also always make sure the bolt is all the way back against the strin...

Re: Rechargeable Hand Warmers
I have the ThermaCell rechargable heated insoles (www.thermacell.com part #THS01-L) and they have a high (111 degrees F.) and Medium (100 degrees F.) with an external remote to switch between them (on/off switch on insoles). Supposed to last 5 hrs. on Medium heat. Still on the fence about them. Know...

Re: What can be done to get rid of skunks?
IF you shoot them do a double lung shot, less likely to spray (notice LESS likely). Down here they have animal control you can rent (private companies/individuals) but they usually charge an arm and a leg for their services. Another place to check out is http://www.trapperman.com/forum/ubbthreads.ph...

Not a mechanical guy but have heard good on the Spitfires and Hypodermics. That was with compounds so don't know if will be good out of a crossbow.

Exocet 165?
Did Excalibur make an Exocet 165? Saw 175 and 200 mentioned but for some reason I have written 165. This was my Dads (guess still is) and has carved tip limbs. He got it in PA about 2000 I think it was. Know on other Xbows (Parker, etc.) 165# seems to be about my limit to pull due to being short and...
