Re: guardian anti dryfire design flaw.

I started modifying the regular and guardian scope mounts back in 2015 to be countersunk. https://www.excaliburcrossbow.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=59490 Definitely takes out the slop in the factory setup on them. Thanks, that is exactly what i was looking to do. for now i just used four 8-32 x 5/16...

Re: Great-nowhere to hunt now

we all lose our property eventually. i had a great place that me and my dad had hunted on since the 80's, lost it in 2021. someone offered the land owner big money to hunt there and he accepted. so now i am enjoying the benefits of public land, slobs hunting from my stands and leaving garbage under ...

guardian anti dryfire design flaw.

i noticed yesterday that my anti-dryfire (and scope) can move. i slowly decocked my bow with the rope after hunting and forgot to press the anti dryfire button so it put all the bows string weight on the anti dryfire. i came home and took a few shots and everything hit low. i pulled up and down on m...

Re: Excalibur cheek piece screw size?

yes that is correct, i checked the height before i glued it and it was good, so i knew i wouldnt be removing it anytime soon, it just looks a little cleaner without the screw hole in the foam.

Re: Excalibur cheek piece screw size?

sure, i just used a piece of pvc, i think it was 1" pvc i cut a small strip out of it length wise so it would fit over the lip on the stock, then i drilled a hole for the screw and attached it with the screw, then i glued a piece of foam pipe insulation on top of the pvc, you cant even see the ...

Re: Another Ramcat question

i think the only difference is the crossbow ones use larger washers... not positive but i think i read that...but i only use the standard ones, i love the ramcats, i tried several mechanicals but all brands i tried (NAP, Rocket,Rage) broke on my 3-d deer target, from the blades slamming open. i have...

Re: How to properly sharpen a broadhead?

I'm with Paul, I just replace the blades. My advice to those who wish to sharpen their replaceable blads is to get a good sharpening steel like a Dick and learn how to use it. Nothing finishes an edge like a good steel. stropping on leather is the best way i have found to finish the sharpening proc...

Re: How to properly sharpen a broadhead?

before and after, sharpness has made no noticeable difference on POI in my 30+ years of archery experience. they may have shot good groups but i was looking for something that flew closer with field points. the ramcats do fly closer but not EXACTLY like my field points from a lead sled. cats are a c...

Re: How to properly sharpen a broadhead?

My favorite resharpenning technique for the slick tricks is to unscrew the trocar tip and remove the blades, insert new replacement blades and screw trocar tip back in. Perfect! Paul that is also by far the most expensive way to do it. do you also buy a new pocket knife every time you use...
