Re: Hawke XB30 past 70 yards?
Thanks for all the responses there fellas. I did the plumb line idea at the target and used the crosshairs to line up, double checked with my bubble level on the riser. Picked a perfectly calm early evening. Off the bench, I got perfect horizontal POI just 1" high off a 1" diameter center ...

Hawke XB30 past 70 yards?
Hey All, I have a Hawke XB30 on a M380. Off the bench shooting I get excellent POI at 10 yards to 70 yards with a 20 yard zero. Once at 80 yards the POI is considerably off being consistently 1.5" right and approximately 3" high. Any ideas or comments appreciated. Thanks, Glenn

Re: Vortex XBR Short Review
Can anyone enlighten me on the $250.00 sale cost of this scope? I am from Canada, if that makes a difference. Thanks, Glenn For those interested, here is a response from Vortex regarding parallax change. "We can change the parallax on the scope to 50 yards, but that is as low as we can go. The ...

Re: Scope Speed Ring Various Distance Accuracy?
Thanks for this wildcatter. Entered some statistic into the chart. From my example above with 20 yard zero and 40 yard chevron set for accuracy with the speed dial, my 60 yard chevron from the chart would be for a 63 yard shot. The difference from 60 yards to 63 yards, again from the chart, is 5.6&q...

Scope Speed Ring Various Distance Accuracy?
I have a question regarding the speed ring setting for sighting in the xbow at various distances. Is it normal that once you have your say 20 yard zero set and proceed to a longer distance such as 50 yards and dial in the speed ring that the other distances aren't necessarily accurate? It sounded li...

Re: XBow Limbs Change with Repeated Shooting
I do have a level on the left side riser as described by Paul and have leveled the scope and the bow with a plumb line set out at 50 yards, so I should be good there. I am using the cocking aid and try to pull equally on both sides during the cocking process. I put a mark at 3/4" for the brace ...

Re: XBow Limbs Change with Repeated Shooting
Hey Guys, Thanks for the informative replies. Checked out all what was mentioned in the posts. Did find front screws of the Weaver bracket that mounts to the trigger housing were in fact loose. Everything else seems to check out OK. Blue Loctite snugged them up and let sit overnight. Put through abo...

Re: Looking for Tips on Off Hand Shooting
I like all these great suggestions. Things I might add to suggest to try. I setup my scope mounting to when sighting through the scope I have the lens reticle centered (vertically + horizontally) in the larger shell of the scope silhouette, like a circle inside a circle view. (similar to peep sight ...

XBow Limbs Change with Repeated Shooting
With repetitive shooting, do the limbs tire and thus require sight re-adjustments for accuracy?
Seems that the more I shoot say after 15 shots or so, the POI tends to drop and shift to the left.
Any comments appreciated.
Thanks

Re: 380 Disappointed Tact Zone Setting
Thanks Racking up points, Maybe some turkey blood soon, but sure looking forward to the fall for deer. I'll be ready. I wouldn't worry over a few FPS either, and as described, your speed estimations are flawed. You say the bow is shooting 1" groups at 40y and I've never heard anyone call that s...

Re: 380 Disappointed Tact Zone Setting
Hey Otisbrazwell, Thanks a bunch. This is the kind of info I was hoping to receive from another 380 user. (Same Tact Zone speed dial setting and same arrow drop measurements as I am getting.) Makes me more confident in my new xbow. Take Care, gtj for what its worth my 380 shot the same speed with a ...

Re: 380 Disappointed Tact Zone Setting
OK, may I put another angle on this. 20 yard zero @40 yards arrow drop is 10.5" @50 yards arrow drop is 20.5" - the specs and method same as previously included below From Excaliburs ballistic chart my bow is shooting at approximately 350 fps. My concern is that I may have a suboptimal per...
