Sun Mar 13, Skins Game - Royal City Bowmen
Hey All, there is a 3D Skins game on the OAA website hosted by Royal City Bowmen at Guelph Lake this Sunday. Seeing as the vertical guys tend not to like getting beat by us horizontal shooters, I was wondering if I could drum up some interest here so we could have our own 4 some (or 2 foursomes!)? B...

Re: Arrow smithing lessons
I'll second the big 'thank you' to Don for hosting the lessons, providing supplies at very friendly rates, and sharing the knowledge & techniques he's had to learn through trial and error over the years. It was a great group of guys to meet and learn with too. And getting to see such a well prov...

Re: Quiver on/off?
Great thread! Me personally, I target shoot freehand almost exclusively, so I took the quiver and bracket off within the first few days and use a short tube archery hip holster (? Don't know the proper name ?) on my belt. In it I carry arrow lube, threaded bolt removal tool, stringing aid, and rope ...

Re: Arrow smithing lessons
I'm in for Sun Feb 28th! I've been nurturing my last few Diablos in eager anticipation of new shooting equipment. And can't wait to try 400 ft/s in that Bulldog.

Re: Arrow smithing lessons
I'll go with 2 dozen 18"ers of whatever you suggest is the best value (I don't mind spending extra $ if there is a noticeable difference @ 60 yds). All I've ever shot are stock diablos that i now fletch with the Arizona bolt and Blazers. I shoot a M330 and my priority would be target shooting a...

Re: Newbie with a 330 , any advice
Congrats on your 330! I've had mine since last winter and still enjoy shooting it on almost a daily basis. To add to all the great advice (and probably repeat stuff) on here I'd suggest start shooting the heck out of it exactly the way it comes and then follow your own intuitions as to what will hel...

Islington Sportsmens Club 3D shoot
I was surprised today that the Islington Sportsmens Club 3D shoot today was the only event scheduled for central Ontario (on the Ontario Archers Association website) and there were no other crossbowers in attendance. Admittedly I have only seen 4 other courses in the region, but this was the prettie...

Re: My New 330 has arrived!
Congrats on your new 330! I bought mine in January this year and have put a lot of shots through it and am very happy with its accuracy, ergonomics, and confidence inspiring consistency. I've been using stock strings (serving only good for ~150 shots), Diablo bolts, and minimal wax and have found it...

Re: 3D shoots this coming weekend May 23 & 24
The Elmira Rod & Gun club were excellent hosts today and I had a bunch of fun with Glenn (winner last week at Royal) and Steve (and his wife Bethany) from Excalibur. Steve was test driving an Excalibur/Bowtech prototype compound crossbow (really light cocking effort, much quieter release). How c...

Re: Looking for Tips on Off Hand Shooting
I just got into crossbow shooting this spring, have done a lot of practicing, and have been putting up very encouraging 3d scores lately; so I'll humbly share a few tips I haven't read here yet that I believe have helped me: -I had to send my scope back under warranty, so while it was gone it gave m...
