Here is a couple of pics of the pieces prior to assembly.

Re: Custom Matrix
It is pretty much done from my end. I still have to function test, but I loaned my bag target out. Next step is anodizing. http://i1382.photobucket.com/albums/ah251/SawyerBee/IMG_0123_zpsspjrzbit.jpg http://i1382.photobucket.com/albums/ah251/SawyerBee/IMG_0130_zpsgwljhple.jpg http://i1382.photobucke...

Re: Custom Matrix
I made a couple of changes from my original desgn. The most interesting of which was the modification of the riser that to reduce down pressure on the rail. I had planned on using the factory height for the rail, but noticed when I got it all together that string was deflecting significantly. I deci...

Re: New and slightly unique Matrix 380
Looks good. I'm happy the rail worked out for you. I've almost got mine together too.

Bulldog, Oh I get it.
The newest Matrix has a bullpup stock. What does a bullpup grow up to be?

Re: Trigger Mod Question
That question is a can of worms here. The stock sear return spring is not very heavy to begin with. I don't think you would have any noticeable loss in pull weight from replacing it. You can check out a write up I did here: http://www.excaliburcrossbow.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=58015&hi...

Re: Custom Matrix
I am expecting less serving wear, it does not get much more slick that a hardened chunk of polished steel. As for performance increases, I don't really see any great advantage in that regard. My motivation for the project is really rooted in materials with a couple of design features that I could no...

Re: Custom Crossbow - too much free time
Also got the Acudraw up and running. For those familiar with the Acudraw I removed the tension spring on the left side allowing me to cut 1/4 inch off the main shaft. Currently the width of my setup is 2.25 inches, which suits me much better than the 4 inch width of a stock Acudraw with the covers i...

Re: Custom Crossbow - too much free time
A bit more headway. I machined the D2 tool steel rails the other day with a 45 degree cutter.

Re: Red Dot Hunting Scope
Excellent, I would have bought it except i needed extra high rings and to replace the 33mm rings the Sightron uses is costly.

Re: Red Dot Hunting Scope
I searched the world over for Red Dots recently. I ended up with a Vortex Sparc 2, but the Sightron S33-4R was a close second. The Sightron is better for crossbow I'd say as you can use some of the settings for multiple aiming points. Not crossbow specific, but the only xbow specific one that I know...

Re: Matrix 405 or Bulldog
You fervent belief in a brand is clouding your ability to reason. REALLY? Keith is one of our more knowledgeable members who have contributed immensely to this forum. Can you elaborate your statement. So, veering off topic a bit from the OP. I have been asked to justify my statement. I am hoping th...

Re: Matrix 405 or Bulldog
The 405 had only been on the market a couple of years when it was completely redesigned and introduced as a slightly slower bow. That is not typical behavior for any company unless there is a product design issue. I know Excal is fervently defending the story and is tired of the couple of individua...

Re: Custom Crossbow - too much free time
Look's nice and very interesting  You may of listed it, but I'm wondering what draw length and resulting speed you are going for? Will the overall length and weight be similar to that of a matrix.? Now I see why you allowed me to buy your rail.... Thank's again Gene As you know I started with...
