Re: Vortex Viper XBR Deal: Now Rings?

I'm going to put on Burris Signature Zees, so I can cant the scope a bit. Can you educate me on this statement? I've always put a plumbers torpedo level on my rail/riser and plumbed the vert hair to a line hanging at 20-30 yds.... You can get up to a 20moa rise out of the stock inserts that come wi...

Re: Vortex Viper XBR Deal: Now Rings?

Vortex recommends cantilevered rings due to long eye relief.

Vortex Viper XBR Deal: Now Rings?

I decided that the Vortex XBR scopes on Amazon at $250 were too good of a deal to pass up. The question now is, what rings? I'd love to hear what other people shooting this scope found works. I would rather avoid the cantilevered ring set up, but if it must be...
Thanks in advance.

Re: Scope upgrade

Another question regarding the vortex. Did you have to buy the vortex offset rings?

Broadhead Target

I have a cheap Cabelas target that is really hard to pull arrows from. Is there a good broadhead target that you can pull broadhead arrows from with relative ease? Do I need to get an arrow puller?
Thanks.

Re: Factory Trigger Mod

Well first of all I admire anyone that can think out of the box and improve on any design. However I am going out on a limb here and make a statement that will probably not sit well with Excalibur managment. Why do we as customers have to purchase or attempt modify/improve a trigger on a $1000.00 c...

Re: Factory Trigger Mod

Reducing the amount of sear engagement on an Excal trigger is DANGEROUS!!!!!. The rifle triggers you have worked over are holding 10-12 lbs. of pressure from a spring. The Excal trigger is holding 200+ lbs. from the limbs!!!! It is not safe with minimal sear engagement!!! You will shoot your eye ou...

Re: Factory Trigger Mod

Just so you know, it been cautioned on here before that pre-loading the trigger is unsafe and that was written by people with a more intimate knowledge of how these triggers work than you or I, so proceed with caution. My fear, is that like almost every screw on your bow that can loosen with vibrat...

Re: Factory Trigger Mod

I caution anyone which decides to tinker with the triggers (even if they have trigger knowledge) as a crossbow trigger is different then a rifle or gun trigger. A gun trigger only holds back a little pressure from a spring while a crossbow trigger holds back all the pressure from the limbs (150-225...

Factory Trigger Mod

First off, this is my first post. I have been enjoying this site, its a great resource. I appreciate the pool of knowledge here. After researching the TT trigger and then looking at my stock unit, I decided that for the price of a set screw I could make my factory trigger much better. I have read on...
