Re: Air Brakes/Dissipater Bar

I have a new Grizzly and have waited to see if I need to add them. When I was shooting 125gr points and broadheads my Griz was a little louder but I switched back to 150gr points and broadheads it's not as loud. I still my try REDS next year. Do they have any effect on arrow speed or string wear.

Re: Scope or me?

I paid about that for the Nikon Bolt shipped. The accuracy has been spot on and has not changed since I bought it the first week of September. I even took it off once and put it back on my Grizzly and POI never changed.

Re: Tree stand death

It bothers me to see these things happen. I'm 61 and not near the agility I had years ago. My ladder stand is down to 10ft. now maybe that is not near as high as it should be. I just don't trust myself to be any higher I wear a vest type safety harness and when it's wet or windy I head for the groun...

Re: New guy with question after string change

Thanks for the advice I was not sure which way to twist the string. I did shoot today this afternoon and about a half hour before dark. My POI did not change so I'm set for opening day on Saturday in PA. Also ordered another string today so I would have a backup since I just put my spare on the Gri...

Re: Scope or me?

When I bought my Grizzly in July it came with a plain Excalibur 2.5 power scope not a Vari Zone or Dead Zone it's advertised to come with. I wrote Excalibur and they would not exchange it for the right scope. Since then that scope went bad you can not see thru it everything is a blur. I replaced it ...

Re: New to this forum

Excellent choice..I'm 61 have had 3 knee operations and back surgery and the Grizzly has not been a problem for me. Only thing I've done with it is put a Nikon Bolt scope on it.

Re: New guy with question after string change

I never thought there was a line on the rail of my Grizzly until I took the original string off. With the string off there is a line there I don't have my bow with me now but it is just under 1 1/2in. I'm all new to Excalibur but the original string I think had been twisted to get that brace height....

New guy with question after string change

I got my Grizzly back in July and have put hundreds of arrows thru it. The center serving was looking worn so I put a new string on before hunting season opens. With my original string my brace height was 1 1/2 in. With the new string it's 1 1/8 in. Should I twist the string to get back to the brace...

Re: Wow!...rain, rain, rain till next Tuesday!

You guys in the eastern part of PA may have some tough conditions this weekend with a possible tropical storm coming up the coast. Looks like here in the northwest hill country we should avoid most or all of this system. I may use my doghouse blind Saturday if the light rain and drizzle forecast hol...

Re: Wow!...rain, rain, rain till next Tuesday!

Any PA hunters here? Saturday in the Allegany National Forest the forecast is low 50's and rain and drizzle. The first week looks good clear skies temps in the mid 50's and low 60's and overnight lows in the upper 30's and low 40's. I'm looking forward to getting out with my new Grizzly and being re...

Re: the doghouse blind is a real winner

I bought one last year before the 2014 PA bow season. I put an old rocking chair in it love to sit and watch deer pass by . As you said we get one buck tag so I let a lot of deer walk by its great when it's raining or cold or both.

Broadhead and arrow combination for Grizzly

This is my third season hunting with a crossbow the previous 40 years before that I hunted with a recurve until compounds took there place. This will be my first season with a Excalibur Grizzly. Re: Nikon Bolt XR Crossbow Scope

I have both scopes. I had the Nikon on my new Grizzly but replaced it with the Hawke for the lighted reticule . I just shot the Griz with the Hawke on it Friday night in a treestand I have behind the house in low light. The lighted reticule was a real plus I was able to put 3 Diablo's dead center fr...
