Re: Another reason I love my Excalibur
I inherited a crossbow with wheels. At first, it seems attractive. Lightweight, 385 fps, folding stock and nice scope. It has a good Trigger Tech in it. When you shoot targets the groups are great. Just don’t try to hunt with it. My Mayrix 380 and Ibex will shoot the brand of fixed broad heads I li...

Re: Why we buy Excalibur recurve crossbows
Couple other high speed wheel and cam fun things you need to do...I looked at my friends manual after 2 years you are required to bring it to dealer or send it to Killer Instinct for inspection of string, cables and cams. After 3 years you are required by warranty to take it to dealer or send it in ...

Why we buy Excalibur recurve crossbows
I have shot a Excalibur Grizzly for 5 years. I know its not the top of the line or the fastest bow. My hunting partner were both 66 finally gave up his compound this summer and bought a crossbow. He bought a Killer Instinct Ripper 415. Plenty fast, shot good, sighted in easy. He was putting bolts ri...

Re: Arrow nock question
Thanks guys I will replace the knocks. There Easton Bloodline arrows 10.5 grains per inch. At 22 inches with insert the weight is about 341 grains on my digital scale and at 20 inches I get 312 grains. So if I cut them down to 18 inches they should be ok with insert. The Diablos I shoot are 250 grai...

Arrow nock question
I bought a Ten Point crossbow 5 years ago also a dozen arrows with Ten Point nock. I took it back same day to many moving parts and bought an Excalibur Grizzly which I still hunt with today. My question is I'd like to cut these down to 18 inches and if weight is good shoot them out of the Griz. Do I...

Re: Max range would you say is far enough?
Good topic . Here in the Allegany National Forest or just on the edge of it in the mountains of northwest PA the woods are thick at the start of bow season October 5 this year. Even when the leaves fall getting shots past 50 yards an be difficult. My tree stands are placed so 35 yards is the max for ...

Re: Thoughts on Grizzly Matrix and Excalibur Boltcutters
That's why I bought a Grizzly. I've shot deer with a recurve and low power compounds when they first came out. I could have bought a more powerful Excalibur but the Griz seemed powerful enough for my hunting. I also use Boltcutter broadheads. I just haven't shot a deer yet as I don't hunt for meat a...

Re: Does it really make sense?
I worked part time in an archery shop in the mid 90's. The week before the PA archery season was always crazy. So many people brought there bows in to have new rests, sights or cables and strings replaced. Plus selling new compounds and trying to get them set up.,We fletched arrows non stop and cutt...

Re: finally some cooler pa weather
Up here in the vicinity of the Kinzua dam and Allegany National Forest we've pretty much had cool conditions all last week. Really nice conditions to sit in a treestand in the evening hunting hours. Today's high is about 54 should be a perfect late afternoon. Monday will be the warmest day we've had...

Re: New Grizzly owner
Nice I am sure you'll like the Grizzly. Got mine past July and I had a few things to learn to feel really comfortable with it. I did not add anything to mine as of yet did get a stringing aid and 2 extra strings. One thing get some good serving wax and keep the center serving waxed. I shot mine a lo...

Re: Antler point restrictions
When I was young in the late 1960's and up to the late 1980's Northwest Pennsyvania had tremendous deer herds. It was common in the Allegany National Forest and in McKean and Potter county to see 20,30 or more deer a day in deer season. I would see groups of 8,10,12 bucks in late summer. There was n...

Re: New Crossbow Owner / Grizzly Brace Height
I have a new Grizzly to and have asked brace height questions after changing strings. I've added nothing to mine yet except a Nikon Bolt scope mainly because mine did not come with the Vari Zone or Dead Zone scope just a plain scope that is very fuzzy when you look thru it. After a string change my ...

I bought 2 new strings after getting my Grizzly in early July. One was the same color as the string that came on it. The other was autumn orange both were Excalibur brand strings same part number both said they were for Matrix Grizzly. The string that is same color as the original I put on an had no...
