Re: Bloodtrail Tracking

A little bit off subject but I keep a spray bottle filled with peroxide in my truck. If you are having a hard time with the blood trail, spray it around and if there is anything there at all, it will foam up just like it does on your kid's boo boos. This works if trying to locate a blood trail. Hap...

Re: Bloodtrail Tracking

If I have to do any night tracking or trying to find a blood trail, i use a Coleman Lantern with a homemade aluminum reflector with a copper and wood handle that I attach to my lantern. I hold it similar to a flashlight. The shield keeps the light out of my eyes and Illuminates very brightly whereve...

Another ideal is to click on the FAQ at the top right of forum page. May find answers you are asking about. Useful info there.

Re: Now I went and Done It

I practiced a lot and was within 4" at 60 yards but When I shot at 40 yards I could follow the arrow through the scope. It seemed to have a bigger arch and was definitely a delay from trigger to target. I just didn't want that deer to move and wound him. I could not have slept if it was a bad ...

Re: How far is too far?

X2 on what Excalibur stated. I can group shots within a 1-1/2" circle on a target at 50 and 60 yards. Live animals is a different story. IMO to much can go Wrong at longer distance, not saying that it cant be done. Many skilled hunters can "Read" what/when a Long shot can be taken and...

Re: Bro In-Law Gets a M380

Drew; Your Bro In-Law purchased a Very Good Make/Model crossbow. I got my M380 in Feb. this year. The claws wore out the factory string in no time at all. I Did the Boo polish job on the claws and it improved them but they are not perfect. I am going to purchase a T.T. Trigger in Jan or Feb. next ye...

Re: Morning Hunt

Congratulations to you sir on your doe. Maybe you and that buck will meet again (at 20 yrds). That was a good idea to keep on guard while field dressing the doe. If the smell of blood didn't spook him he was probably rutting real good. Thanks for sharing that.

Re: Finally took the leap

Welcome to the forum. This is the place to get advice and learn from very Knowledgeable people. DrStirrup is an excellent rope cocker to use if it is within your budget. Dan Miller of HORIZONTAL ARCHERY is another source for buying the rope cocker. He doesn't have a web site but will do phone orders...

Congratulations to you. Sounds as if you have a really good combination for your equipment setup. I like the " No Tracking " shot you made. Hoping for more success in your future hunts.
