Sounds like a great hunt to me. I have a feeder sling'in corn out in the mornings and the evenings. If I would have known that and Excalibur works better I would just hang one from my stand. Lesson learned :D

I hunt in the rain quite a bit with no precautions taken. And while sitting in the rain my lens caps are open to prevent fogging. When I get back home I dry off my matrix and it's good to go. Wash, rinse, repeat :wink:

I have used the Bushnell TRKR lights this year. Bothe the handheld and the headlamp. As stated earlier it has white, red and a blood light. I've shot 2 deer this week in the evening and used both lights for tracking. They have worked great. I forgot the headlamp in my jacket pocket and my wife washe...

I grew up running dogs for deer in North Carolina. It really was not my preferred way to hunt but as a kid my choices were limited so dog hunting it was. I bought the Bushnell Truth rangefinder for this season so no real field testing till September 26 but I have messed with it some at home ranging trees, cars, my kids. And it seems to work well.
