Re: Disaster moose hunt

While in my blind opening weekend, the limbs started making horrible, loud creaking noises while on my lap. I eventually set it down and took cover while it loudly snapped over about 3-4 minutes. This is exactly my experience. An initial crack / delamination and it kept cracking and snapping more o...

Re: Disaster moose hunt

Hi guys, thanks for the kind word. Sadly, the moose season is over for me this year. It will need to go next year. What also sucked is I was 4 on 4 in the last 4 year moose hunting and the Micro issue cost me my streak. But there are worse issue than that. As for the limb issue, I have received my R...

Disaster moose hunt

I just got back from my moose hunt. Opening day was last Saturday. I arrived Friday afternoon. I bring out my micro 335 to validate all is still good before the hunt. I shot a few bolts and on the 5th shot, while cocked, I heard a big cracked. One of the limbs developed a big crack. I said to myself...

Biggest Moose ever with my Micro 335

Hi, For a third year in a row, I harvest a moose on opening week-end with my Micro. Got a complete passthrough from a 40 yards shot and the arrow went another 25 yards and went into the ground halfway. The moose was walking when I took the shot, only had 5 feet of clearing to make the shoot so I had...

Re: Micro 335 warranty repair wrong ?

I did some more shooting this weekend and the crossbow shoot as expected, which is perfect. This is with the limb with the bump off the bow. The tiller is perfect, the string is square with the rail and I am shooting 1" group at 50 yards. So prefect. Now I did try to reinstalled the limbs with ...

I had to remove the limbs to look at the shims. There is a mark corresponding in the shim.

Thanks

Re: Micro 335 warranty repair wrong ?

The line is 1/4" before the end of the riser, creating a gap and causing the tiller issue.

thanks

Is that the Paint Blemish in red??
I dont think it is paint. Looks more like glue or resine under the paint. It is very hard.

Re: Micro 335 warranty repair wrong ?

Here is an update: Just to be fair and accurate, that slide square could have tolerance inconsistencies. They are ok for quick squaring but for precise squaring, use a fixed angle square. That slide square can be up to a degree off from the groove to where the slide tightens down into it. Just my op...

Re: Micro 335 warranty repair wrong ?

I got my my limbs and riser back yesterday. Excalibur did send me a an unmodified Gen 1 riser as agreed. The tiller issue also seems to be fixed. They also add a new string to cover the shipping. I did not get the time to test my turkey setup with the 4'' magnus Bullhead yet. Will try to test this w...

Re: Micro 335 warranty repair wrong ?

Dodgethis, Are you happy with your repair? I think this is what has been proposed to me as a fix. Thanks, Steven I ship it end of last week. Just got confirmation they received it today. They agreed to replace the modified riser with an original gen 1 riser and also make sure the tiller issue is fi...

Re: Micro 335 warranty repair wrong ?

Hi Boo, Before the warranty fix, the crossbow was perfect. I was shooting 1.5'' group @ 50 yards. Now it does not shoot good. Getting 2''-3'' group @ 20 yards with field point. So something as to be wrong. Was shooting dime at that distance before. I even confirm my shooting skills with my dad matri...

Re: Micro 335 warranty repair wrong ?

OK guys, here is an update. I did measure from the limbs exit to the string on each side and the difference is about 1/8''. I also use a square and there is a tiller issue for sure, See picture: https://i.imgur.com/x9oZDzy.jpg I also swap the limbs. After the swap, the tiller issue is the same. This...
