Wasps and Regrets *Graphic*

Ever have one of those slow motion moments when you say to yourself... Why did I do that? That was me about half way to the ground after thinking it was a reasonable plan to spray wasp nests from the top of a ladder above a concrete entry way. August 25th... just in time for hunting season :? Got bo...

Re: Hot weather deer hunting help

This may not be the best way but it's how I do it in Texas. Our bow season opens October 1 and Rifle November 1 and it's not uncommon to be in low 90's still at times in October. I field dress asap, hang it hind up, make sure I've got a good through cut on the neck and put a 20lbs bag of ice in the ...

Take two

Hola Amigos! Haven't been on in a while, job change kept me off the forums during the day and life kept me off at night. Apologies to Flightattendant100 for my complete abandonment of Texfest last year. Going to try a hanger this year for the first time. Texas trees are short and wide so I'm not sur...

Re: BH w/REDS, what am I doing wrong?

Well I really and truly wasn't trying to pull anyone's chain on this, I just didn't realize that the BH range was so broad. The manual says 0.5-1" for the 355 and the Grizzly has a line scribed on the rail at 1.5" but I doubt that 1" BH is going to be a huge issue. I was just overthin...

BH w/REDS, what am I doing wrong?

Ok I give up... help me please. My brace height seems too low when I get the string down to the REDS where I think it should be. Am I too close too the REDS? I can't seem to get the best of both worlds, either I'm shallow on BH or I'm 1/2" off the REDS. The first is a 355 with the correct REDS,...

355 in the house....

And the wife was quick to find it. http://i1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc461/jp5518/938-010divorce-posters.jpg So you're going to sell the other one she says. Apparently violent laughter is not the correct response to that question. I tried to lighten the mood by doing my best Elvis Presley dance mo...

Re: Dumb Question: Why Don't We Eat Yotes?

Just because it stinks doesn't mean it's bad... an old feral hog smells like week old road kill on a good day. I had a couple of Mexican guys feed me some Armadillo one time, they told me it was squirrel. Those carry leprosy but I never hesitated to handle them, we used to chase them and kick them a...

Re: New Member, New To Crossbows, Matrix Questions

I don't have any physical ailments yet but I can't say enough good things about the Grizzly. It's 200lbs draw weight allows me to shoot it all day without fatigue and at just under 300 fps it is plenty of power for pass through shots on whitetail at normal shooting ranges. I shoot 20-40 yards usuall...

So if my calculations are correct then at 20fps per 10lbs I should be a very fast person. I love science!

Re: Last harvest of this season... probably

Congrats CG nice doe . do you use any lighted nocks they really help me even under the snow. I learned how to make strings last winter . it took awhile but I got it . the arrow thing is good to know to. W.M. As long as Mike is making strings I doubt I ever give that a try. I haven't used lighted no...

Last harvest of this season... probably

I had a chance to use a Butt-Out tool and gut hook for the first time on this one and they worked fine. Not sure the extra tools to clean warrant the time saved but they did save some time. Also, I am 0 for 3 on arrow recovery. Broke 2 arrows and lost one outright. 2 of the 3 broadheads were also lo...
