Re: My hunting land is getting logged.
Many many times we heard the phrase "follow the chainsaws" when we hunted Maine, the new cuts were a magnet to deer for a few years, first it was the fresh tops and then the new growth, good luck!

I don't think you need to worry about that ko4nrbs, everything that was initially illegal when compounds first came out was eventually made legal! Here in PA they want the deer killed, next thing they will have a gatling gun season the way this is going!! Back on topic: Just like anything else...

Re: Is it my imagination
Here where I live in lower Carbon county, it was definitely blue tongue that devastated the heard and people were finding dead deer everywhere, where we were hunting we didn't find any. Driving back and forth to hunt we saw only a couple of road kills where there are usually a lot more, and asking t...

Re: Is it my imagination
I usually don't post when I do get a deer, but this year was a disaster for my hunting buddy and not really that great for me, I did manage to get a small 7 pt, buck and a doe with the Matrix 380 wearing one of Mikes strings. We hunted almost every morning for the 7 weeks of archery and the 2 weeks ...

Re: Hawk crawler deer cart update
Just thinking about all the gadgets we use today compared to yesteryear when we carried a gun, a knife, a rope and ammo. No one was in trees unless it was a homemade 2x4 stand and if you found one while hunting, you got excited that maybe this was a good spot! The sophisticated hunter communicated ...

That's strange Nog, just a couple hours ago my neighbor was telling me about how delicious the shanks are. I never heard of anyone making them until he mentioned it, now you post about it and those absolutely do look delicious!

I don't know about your state, but in PA I believe it is illegal to use one for both deer and turkeys.

If knapped correctly, I believe Obsidian can be sharper than a modern surgeons scalpel.

Re: Venison Aging/Processing
During buck season here in PA you would often see buck hanging from trees in yards for at least 3-4 days before they did them up, there was also an ice house where guys would hang deer to age them before doing them up, that ice house is long gone. When we hunted Maine, we often had deer hanging for ...

:eusa-think: what about an adapter like the one you can use on the hammer on Winchester or a marlin 30/30 ??? that goes to the side , ?? it could be put on either side, that could probably be done with a 3d printer Dave :eusa-think: Good idea, I had one on a Marlin lever .35 Rem. years ago, look up...

Congrats. on getting a coyote, couple years ago my buddy had one standing in front of him, when he clicked the safety off the coyote heard it and took off like a rocket, lesson learned!
